So when can i play Odyssey with decent framerates?

As the title says. we are 4 "Performance" updates in and i still cant play in Settlements & Stations with decent frames.

3900x / 32GB Ram / 3060Ti / SSD - latest Drivers / Bios

getting 25 Fps on settlements / concourses even on Low in 3440x1440 with 0.5SS so basically 1720x720 resolution
- on Ultra / High it gets worse oviously

i payed literally for nothing since most content of Odyssey is blocked by a bad FPS....

getting a refund seems impossible so thank you for that...

I hope you fix the performance with the next update or AT LEAST allocate MOST your ressources to focus on the performance and not some silly things like ARX on foot.

i am really pi**ed by the lack of communication regarding WHY the frames are still so bad for many players.

You just say "performance fixes" and let me tell you i had ~40fps on settlements / concourses in 4k on high / Ultra at launch and you crippled the frames on my mashine with each update. What are you doing?

This is unaccaptable!

I get 50+ fps in Concourse on Ultra (higher with shadows on medium) with a Ryzen 3600X and an NVIDIA 1660Ti at 1920x1080 resolution.

It's really interesting to see the higher end cards struggle and I'm definitely curious why.
Depends a bit. I'm using a i7-7700/16GB RAM/2080 and play at 4K in Ultra. There i get around 47 frames in concourses except with some glass which tanks that to ~27.

Funnily reducing the resolution to 1080p doesn't result in a significant change in the framerates.

They don't know what they ware doing - when this Beta goes to release - ie when they finished ripping stuff out to make it work on a Console from 2013.

Your spec is much better than mine.
I've only got; AMD FX 8350 4.2Ghz 8 Cores / 24gb Ram / GTX 1060 / normal on HD / latest drivers

Running at 1080p on high ( shadows med ) gets about 35fps on the concourse ( unless I look out of the window in the pioneer store, then it drops to about 16fps ) this is a slight improvement over the Alpha.
In settlements I get between 18-22 which I actually think is slightly worse than the Alpha.

Basically I still think a large part of the problem is culling ( or lack of ) there are wall in the concourse where you can just look at the wall ( no windows or anything ) and get around 35FPS - but due to a bug (fixed in update 4) one of the walls got culled, so I could see through to the see all the landing pads etc, my frame rate was the same, so basically when looking at a plain wall in the concourse area the game is still rendering everything outside of the concourse.

The new planet tech is just not optimised at all, FPS on the ground not even in a settlement is only around 40FPS for me, in Horizons it's 140+FPS.

It's crazy that I get a very consistent 40~ FPS in Cyberpunk at 1080 and it looks great, but in Odyssey looking at simple ugly building at a settlement gets me 18-19FPS.

At console release.

Higher end card struggle in 4K/1440p, yours struggles even in 1080p as the fps figure you posted demonstrates. So it's not only the higher end cards, really.

"50 fps+ in FHD" is pathetic performance for a 1660Ti, I bet it's capable of something like 120 fps in Horizons. Odyssey does not have such an advanced level graphics that could justify such a massive performance drop.

On i5-4670K/32Gb RAM/GTX 1080TI 11Gb/1080p res. (no SSD just old HDD) I have 40-50FPS (60 in black) -=EVERYWHERE=-. Why? IDK...

It's as if the game analyses the hardware spec, and concludes with "challenge accepted!".

It's mostly playable for me (settlements just above 30fps if stuff goes on, 10 or more if it doesn't, concourses can be anything between 19fps and 60 locked depending on what I look at) but it's extremely janky and uneven with lots of stutters and hitches making it quite an unpleasant experience. Without even mentioning the various gameplay, UI and audiovisual bugs & glitches - I'm on an i7 9700 and RTX2060s, so below the OP's setup.

I have a much lower config and I have the same FPS. Changing graphic option does nothing.

The only thing that has a noticeable impact on framerate is lowering resolution - if I drop it to 1080p it almost doubles the frame rate in some places, but there's a risk of eye cancer given how the game handles AA in particular (I'm playing on a 2k monitor), and it still can't maintain a stable 60fps either, so I just leave it at 2k/Ultra and deal with the jank.

I think you said an important thing here.
I read people picking on who have a 2070 saying that it's an "old" card.
Heck, 2070 is a powerful card (i wish i had it), and regardless how old it is, Odyssey doesn't have anything about graphic quality to justify not running very well on it at 4k.

1080ti here and currently when i near a settlement the game grinds to a halt until the pc stops altogether.
During the "ALPHA TEST" i couldnt play longer than half hour anywhere but it did run.
There was a time once between a few updates of the game when it ran perfect 40-60 fps 1440P HIGH inside settlements.
Played for 3 hours straight doing all kinds of missions and it did not stutter ONCE.
Then next update i could hardly launch it going into main menu GPU went 100% load and looked like a powerpoint presentation.

Yeah... and some people are saying that earth is flat... don't bother too long with theses kind of peoples.
Well everything is relative, my 1080 is old too or long in the tooth, however I can still play new games in 4K 60 FPS, sure I need to tweak the settings but it’s durable, you don’t need a 3090 super charged GPU to play a new game, if you do it’s not optimized and a piece of garbage code IMO.
