I know. :) I'm giving up talking about it. They will make adjustments or they won't, I'll cope either way.

Give the complainers one day without the gravity well physics. :)

They will overshoot their targets by light hours all day long and come back here to ask for slower ships ;-) :) (Or crash into stars and planets)

To answer the original question: it's a game mechanic and will most likely never be removed! If you want to think about it "in-universe", it would be like riding a bike up a hill. The stronger the gravity, the more of a hill there is, so the harder you have to pedal (the FSD is working harder) to overcome the gravity.

Its completely untransparent, no indications of the size or severity of gravity wells, no mass lock lit up. Remove this crap or better present it. Plus stars don't do this and they have a huge gravity well. Cant tell why my ship is slowing, is it distance to target, near a planet, both, have no idea, the game certainly won't tell me.

I've had my speed start to drop 100,000 ls from target (and nearest planet), so there is a limiter based on distance to target which must be removed. What is the point in an optional auto throttle, when its not actually optional.

unlike eve online where u warp, its more like x3 where u have to actively keep an eye on youe supercruise. of course on open world when the screen locks up for 2 seconds and u crash into a planet, then the process needs to be slowed down, or take us further away from the sun if the netcode isnt being worked on
