Engineers So where is this 'ere Micro-Weave Cooling Hoses eh?

Ok so this is my understanding of how the system works with getting materials as a mission reward from my EXTENSIVE amount of grinding. So, as you may know, each planet has locked in set of minerals that you can find on that planet. Every planet has just 11 minerals and the minerals are persistent for that planet. Meaning it is the same for everyone. However, since only 11 elements are on each planet, some planets will not have Yttrium for example (You can find Yttrium on Deciant 7B btw). If someone says they found Yttrium on a planet, it WILL be there, but it is at the mercy of the RNGesus. Sooo I believe the same system works for the materials. Every space station has the common mats as a mission reward, but then the rare things IE Micro-Weave Cooling Hoses, will only be on certain stations. But then even on those stations, it will RNG the chances of it coming up. So you may very well get to a planet that has the possibility of having that as a reward, but you would need to STAY there and keep trying to beat out that damn RNG in order for it to come up. So, if someone says that found it on a specific station, it WILL be there again, you just have to stay there and keep trying. I could be wrong, but that seems to be how I've experienced it.

Its not completley random, its machinery so try industrial stations.

Hey OP.

This is a bit of a late reply nut I just found 4 as mission rewards in "Mike" system.

Also those Military Super capacitors you want can (at the moment) be found at encoded emission signal sources in a system called HIP 11125 (it's an anarchy system with 4 warring factions) credit for this find to CMDR Belthize

What level are you at with these faction? Cordial, Friendly?

I've been jumping round for days in real life, doing missions here and there. And Even in the places you've stated.

but I just keep getting the same universal rewards from 150ly's away regardless from Farseer.

I noted that they seam to be industrail sites, near a heavy metall world, and found something in emperial space about mid way.

Same deal.

I'll grind a faction to see if I can improve my rating and see if I can't get the RNG system to give me what I want!!! Grr,

I think you are most likely to get good mission which reward commodities when Allied with the local factions. Wu Guinagi is my system of choice as it has an easy 1 jump loop that can get you allied pretty fast with the locals. They are Imperial factions though so if you're not into that then I'm not sure.

8 days - spamming 40-50 stations on Mission boards - Not a single Micro-Weave Cooling Hose to be found! I'm blessed with a large amount of patience - but somehow - this seems to be ticking the edge of it!
Am stuck with two different upgrades that depend on this ! Can someone suggest a different strategy than spamming random Stations Mission boards? This doesn't seem to be working

Run missions, they show up in your inventory as a reward for mission completion so long as you aren't at your cargo cap (must have room for the reward materials). I keep selling them off. Just run missions that include materials rewards and they will show up.

I got so many Micro-Wave Cooling Hooses doing missions to find Modular Terminals i could open a business selling them!
I did missions between Sothis and Ceos and also between HIP 10716 and Wu Guinagi.

Im sure that when i start looking for those i will have trouble finding them. If only we had some sort of personal storage for commodities... hmmmm...

I've been pretty crtitical of some of the complaining about the timesink involved in Engineers and you know what? I take some of it back tonight.

Previously I haven't done any engineering that requires components that are mission-exclusive. Every other aspect of Engineers, I stand by my original stance in that the timesink is nothing like as bad as some players have made out. This though, is not gameplay. It's more like being repeatedly kicked in the balls by a very fat man wearing big boots whilst three of his mates throw crap in my face and laugh, all the while filming it to upload to facebook and send to all of my mates.

I actually thought it would be quite fun (stop laughing at the back) you know, visit a few systems until I find somewhere that's giving out the fabled micro-weave cooling hoses that I need to get some level 3 dirty drive action going on. I have everything else that I need. You know the famously difficult to obtain specialised legacy firmware, the stuff that the forum has endless posts from people saying how hard they are to get? Picked up nine of those within 10 minutes of logging on today. 'Cool' I though, 'just need these mission commodities now and I'm in business.'

That was hours ago. I've been keeping count and I've now read over 250 mission briefs in 16 stations, all of which match the profile for where I should be able to find missions offering these things. I've been offered modular terminals, imperial shields and some stuff that I hadn't even heard of. Not one micro-weave cooling hose though, not even included in a mission that I couldn't actually accept because I've checked those too.

Total waste of a night's game time because literally all I have done is jump from system to system growing increasingly irritated. I'm just about ready to put my monitor through, I've actually logged out because I can't even face the prospect of jumping to yet another system and going through the same tired old rigmarole of checking the mission board with an increasing sense of incredulity and anger. I'd tell Felicity exactly where she can shove her micro-weave cooling hoses but first she's going to need to find a very good gynaecologist or an extremely broad-minded plumber.

All in all, a most unsatisfying experience.

Cool, I'll just grind up one of my combat rank from 62% deadly, my trade rank from 6% tycoon or my exploration rank from 55% pioneer and I'll get right on it. :(

Actually, based on tonight that would probably be the quickest way :D

Cheers though.

Did I mention that I hate you?

Understood, and fair enough.:)

I did have luck earlier this evening at Tun's Wart running missions.

All fixed up now, didn't get any at Tun but I rana few missions from there and nearby systems started throwing them at me. Thanks again to anybody who suggested systems. :)

Well, that explains why I didn't get any running Tun missions this morning. You took them all!;)

But hay, good to hear. I was getting worried I might have to give you mine!

I have seen these for sale at a station whilst doing missions for the Sirius permit.

Racking my brains, I think it was Toolfa. Not 100% on that though.
