so who else is already Elite ?

I think the main reason I've increased my exploration rank faster on PlayStation than my xbox profile is down to the advanced discovery scanner tbh :) I normally only use an intermediate so I've been earning upto a mil in data for every few hundred ly trip I've been on to engineers etc.

I'm gonna get my sol permit and then finish saving for the python then just chill, no real rush just missing some of the big ships :)

Yep, an ADS is vital for exploration and pays for itself surprisingly quickly.

For me, the Python is the best ship in the game. I do actually own an Anaconda, but I only use it for mining. I don't get on with large ships as well, much preferring the smaller ones. I find them more fun to fly.

I wasn't that keen on the python at first but once I'd engineered the jump range it quickly turned into one of my favs and most used ships :)

Oh, yes - the stock Python is horrible. A great, lumbering target.

But A-rate the thrusters and FSD, apply a little Engineering (although not essential) and something magical happens :)

IMHO following someone else's path isn't exploring. I did a rare trade run today to get a Vulture, and promptly ate a rebuy for trying to take on a Fer-de-Lance. I thought I would recover some credits by exploring. Picked a random point out on the map in the middle of nowhere and set off. That's exploring to me.

Systems should give less exploration rank the more people have visited them, if they don't already. I guess it's still "exploring" for your Commander, but it isn't really contributing anything to the knowledge and progress of people in the bubble.

From the looks of things exploration will be what I get to Elite first with, unless I switch to a load of trading. Still a long way to go though.

Pro tip: If you're aiming triple Elite and wan't to do it a little bit easier, do exploration and trading first. Don't even touch combat.
