Sol the Great disappointment

No mans sky , what joke that game is. it so generic and 90% of being babys first space sim (maybe thats why the consol users love the sound of it?)

but anyway , SOL is unique it includes (one easter egg) each planet is handcrafted , and most importantly its just how it would be in real life (what matters the most)

I like the idea with the handcrafted stations or other handcrafted things just for SOL.

So which piece of content that we do have would you like to have been replaced by handcrafted stations or whatever for Sol? Would you like to give up the Adder or the Type 7? Because that's what you're talking about: replacing something applicable to the galaxy at large with something Sol-specific that you'll marvel at once and not even notice again. We're missing 10 ships that were originally planned to be available at release, not to mention all the major functionality that didn't get implemented. Moaning about Sol not being special enough is simply puerile.

As it happens there is something handcrafted specially for Sol, so they have spent some effort on it. You just need to find it.

he doesnt talk about planets being different. I like the idea with the handcrafted stations or other handcrafted things just for SOL. And actually i also thought devs would take some more time and imagination for that system.

Why not having special coms when entering the system e.g. greeting new visitors perhaps even with some voice. easyily done. or special music score. easily done too.

Why not having a mars station and you are greeted by President Schwarzeneggers head!

Why not? Because games are developed with finite resources, and choosing to do one thing today means choosing to delay many things until tomorrow.

all about priority, for you the adder has priority, for others a unique SOL system. There is no single best decision or opinion.

I have not been there recently... Have they actually updated Jupiter to use the original , recognizable texture and made its ring system invisible from supercruise? Because last time I looked, Sol did not look like it does in real life at all. It would be awesome if it die now...

Just checked in game... The System map still shows Jupiter with white glowing rings more spectacular than those of Saturn. That's not Jupiter, and certainly not handcrafted. It's a procedurally generated gas giant like all the others.

Very sad.

I dunno. I thought terraformed Mars was a nice surprise, and I loved it's station. Only one in that style I've seen.

It was also very cool to drop out of supercruise and literally say out loud: "Wow, that's Australia!"

I did feel Jupiter and Saturn were a bit lackluster, but that might have been because I've seen tons of Gas Giants and Ringed Gas Giants on my way to Sol.

I visited in Late Beta, so I was also a bit disappointed at the lack of stuff to buy at Earth. Figured they'd pretty much have everything.

So....since it's launch, and I have a Cobra that needs upgrades....think it's time for another long trip back 'home'!

I Don't know what he expected, a huge fleet getting ready for invasion?! If I remember correctly sol system is closed to most for conservation reasons (in the lore) and earth was Terra-formed after some sort of nuclear war and is now a closed reservation with no humans allowed. I couldn't recognized anything on it's surface, maybe I didn't look well enough...
