Outside of the obvious as far as differences go...is playing in "solo" with legacy any different than playing with the live version? Currently in legacy at the moment and considering installing the live version as a newbie.
Yeah Im hip about the updates...thanxYou realize legacy is frozen - no longer being updated in terms of content (other than Background stuff).... right?
Not much point in asking under that light.
Not sure if you're confused or not - but you can solo in Odyssey/Horizons just as easily. (I Do it all the time)
That was one of my concerns as well since as a new player putting too many hours in legacy for naught.Other than the obvious feature differences, legacy is an older version of the game that will get no updates.
IMO the features already available in live mode make it preferable.
There is no way to know what updates will be added to live mode in the next couple years. But it would suck to dump big hours into legacy mode and not have the possibility of getting access to updates that might be desirable. Its a gamble, not knowing what new features might be added. Maybe Frontier will allow legacy players to migrate their character from Legacy to Live versions. Maybe, I don't know.
Performance is the divider in my opinion. As a VR player (or a player with low spec hardware), Legacy is the best option. I don't need or want more content than Legacy delivers.Outside of the obvious as far as differences go...is playing in "solo" with legacy any different than playing with the live version? Performance or content? That would be the choice in my opinion. Solo is solo either way.
teh omly thing i do not like about teh Odysey changes is it is now basicly impoosable to get andy Nessedary enginering materiels out side of the the bubble. Now that planet hot spots are gone your onlu choice are geting lucky and findint the 1 r to 2 rocks per 10km on the surface or the extremly low quatiliy and rare number of astroids with eninering mats. Getinf materials on Planets is efectivly non exisatnce. especial since old Bios such as Cystalk shards and Brain trees Do not exists that far outside of the bubble.
