Made some more screenshots! These ones I like, The first one I just took a High Res screenshot and then cropped it. Maybe an idea for some not using an Eagle.

I think the asp in its current configuration looks more like the space shuttle than the asp I remember from the original game in 1984.

Just a tip, pressing Ctrl Alt G will disable most of the hud, makes for slightly less cluttered screenshots.

I don't know if it works because I havent tried it yet but I saw a post on a thread (sorry cant remember where) saying that pressing ctrl + C will get rid of the rest of the hud.

That's a hauler...

Will have to try that.

That's not actually an Asp, just a regular hauler.
This is an Asp:

I am a big fan of 2560x1440 monitors. They are a massive upgrade over 1080p and a nice compromise for 4K.

I still prefer IPS models however. Input lag is not really perceivable and the difference in colours is amazing. TN panels look so washed out in comparison to IPS. The 144Hz over 60Hz is nice but not really needed.

You are also paying a premium for GSync which is not needed if you have the highest end cards as you will not dip below the refresh rate of the monitor with such hardware. The only time a stutter is perceivable is when you dip below the refresh rate of your monitor and the refresh rate is then halved.

As a recent owner of a PG278Q ROG Swift monitor I would agree. The panel is very fast and fluid, but the colour is washed out. I preferred the look of my 4 year old 1920x1080 AOC panel that it replaced. IPS panels have much better levels of black, and if you're flying around in space it looks really disappointing to see it in dark grey. Until I had one I didn't appreciate what everyone said about TN panel colour being poor. Now I do :(

The monitor's own controls don't allow nearly enough control to make the image look better, and default is horrible. After adjusting the nVidia settings and running a 3rd party app to cut down the LED backlighting by about 50% I've managed to get results that are just barely acceptable. Barely.

I regret buying this monitor and I'd strongly caution anyone who doesn't need the speed of the ROG Swift for FPS gaming to look at alternatives. The cheaper Asus PB278 is a very nice 2560x1440 IPS panel that IMHO looks much better.

Cool site... Just uploaded a few and suggest everyone in this thread do the same. An online repository of ED images is a fantastic idea!

thx! - i've seen your images already :) it's really great how many awesome pics are already on the site and more and more are coming in

also thanks @Tony H. for your latest pic!

i have a few more plans for updates on the site - so watch that space

You have to use
Code:
