Some extraordinary mining numbers !!!

I think the exploit is against the TOS that every player agreed to. If one player can break the rules then everyone can. So why have the TOS in the first place?
If it was a proper 'broken' mechanic and outside of the TOS then there are going to be a lot of very upset folk when Frontier 'fix' it, particularly if they act in the same manner as the Fertiliser exploit :)

Good question why have the TOS in the first place? - it doesn't appear to include the things that 'matter' to a few players no matter how they try to manipulate the wording (I won't mention the 'exploit' but I'm sure you can guess) so unless Frontier can enforce every condition 24/7 for every player, and remove every bug in the game, then there will be players taking advantage of every 'unintended behaviour' - and others bleating about it :)

I'm of the opinion that with 'gold rushes' (like the current one) Frontier will either ignore it until they nerf it, or will decide that it was a proper exploit and remove the exploited earnings and anything purchased with them - it won't affect me, as what those players are currently doing doesn't, but may afford me a wry smile later.

I would love that !!!
The only public "exploited stuff" removal that FD have done, if my memory serves me right, was the engineering abuse mechanics.

Wasn't the Rockforth Fertiliser 'earnings' removed overnight too? Much to the chagrin of those who made a billion or ten :)

I think you may have misunderstood me. The exploit I was talking about was the logging off and on to reset the subsurface deposits, not the extraordinary earnings one. I don't think the earning a gazzillion an hour is an exploit, but seems a little way too excessive. That kind of earning doesn't impact on any other player other than themselves. ;)

No, I understood what you were referring to well enough :) There has been enough noise made about it, it just doesn't interest me in the least.

Which is why I pointed out that Frontier have been known to 'remove' earnings from obvious exploits in the past - just not often enough to make exploiters think twice.
It is the same as 'farming' the same HGE - and that has been in-game and unaddressed for a long time.

I'm fine - there is sufficient 'content' in the game to keep me playing my 3 accounts with each of them engaged with 'proper' game mechanics - 1 account is working toward the 7 billion needed to buy, equip and run a FC, which I anticipate buying toward the end of August, the other 2 accounts (this one in particular) will remain relative paupers, but will be able to take advantage of services offered by the FC too - all good.

Well done you for being more upstanding than me :)

I agree completely [about HGE farming]. This should be a priorarty for them, but they seem to do nothing about it. Or are they completely oblivious to it?
IIRC CMDR Exigeous made a point of asking Frontier whether killing the game and restarting to farm an HGE was a violation of the terms of service, and he was told that it wasn't.

So someone at Frontier isn't completely oblivious.
