I'm quite happy with some of the animals in this new pack. I'd have personally switched out the hyena or caracal for a baboon but you can't always have what you want (I'm willing to say I will die on the hill that the blue wildebeest is nice to have).
However, I do have some qualms with the model and texturing of the emu
First off, the fur shader pokes out in an odd way, which clashes with how the feathers flow. I not sure why Frontier can't make it so that the shader can flow in different ways. This is a problem with many species but it's especially apparent here.
Especially with how the hair on the neck and head is combed, I don't understand why this could not have been applied across the body to give a more authentic look to the feathers. As a side note, I feel the length of the hairs going up the neck and especially around the head can be shortened a bit.
Finally, the texturing on the wing is off. The feathers should flow with the rest of the body, making them practically invisible when seen from a profile. These wings stick out far too much from the rest of the body
Finally, I'd like to add a tiny addendum for the blue wildebeest. I'm very happy that this species is finally in-game (I'd have preferred it to be in the base game but whatever). While I know that many specimens have the erect mane as seen here, I would have liked some to have the mane that droops to the side, an iconic feature for this species. Perhaps down the road, model variants can be added for different hair patterns for wildebeest and other species
