Some Questions for Clipper Owners from a current Asp Owner

The clipper is superior to the Asp in every way, except maybe jump range.

More or less true. The clipper is superior to an asp with a few exceptions: Mobility and lateral thrusters.

Clipper lateral thrust (including forward/backward) is abysmal, but fortunately not terribly important in most cases either. Unfortunately, the clipper also has garbage shields and does not cater well to using fixed weapons.

You guys really make me want to get a Clipper... I could get one soon (currently 15mil in the bank plus my 10mil Vulture) if it wasn't for the reputation grind... I have no rank with the Empire (though I'm friendly with them), I have no idea how long it takes to reach baron but from what I've gathered from this forum, it looks like it takes a painfully long time...

Not really. Did all ransk up to the one before in a single day/session. Started with neutral empire rank. Getting the baron mission took me another day or so.
