I certainly don't think that Americans as a whole can pick up the award for global idiot, but there are a few choice candidates for the award who do hail from the New World.
America is a big place with lots of people who have access to the Internet. There are a lot of people under the distribution curve, and so there'll be a lot of folks under the bell end of that curve.
Glad to see my country isn't widely vilified on here. Wish we all would mistake OP for a moderator more often. :3

In terms of idiocy, we got both Trump and Brexit beaten and thats before breakfast...meanwhile the UK and the EU are tying themselves up in knots over what to do with us...its so very entertaining I have to admit, I cant wait to see how they gonna police the border here considering how childishly easy it is getting across it.

LOL cracks me up the righteous sanctimonious types banging on about negative labels, tolerance and treating people equally when they can't do it themselves. The swing to the right is a direct result of the stupidity and inability to have any sort of meaningful compromise on key issues that many people feel strongly about, yet the libigots dump on us time and time again. Move to a country and be patriotic?..that's fine according to libigots, want to be patriotic in your own country? Libigots say go bleep yourself you racist scumbag.
Depends what you mean by patriotic, flying a flag and paying taxes is pretty patriotic so is criticizing your own country because there are problems that need fixing and you mean well.
Using patriotism as an excuse to do or excuse very silly/divisive/counterproductive things isn't patriotic at all.
If some accused me of being a moderator I wouldn't think it was complementary - just sayin'

The swing to the right? Ive always been intolerant of the other side here and refuse point blank to even sit in the same room as them to work out our differences purely because they refuse to respect our beliefs which is why the entire government here collapsed over a year ago. Mutual respect simply doesnt exist on either side, left or right.
So how do ye fix it when neither side will accept the other? Its like a real world version of hotel california only the stakes are higher and the consequences a lot more far reaching ^
