Someone pushed a "not-working" update to steam!

the last update is totally ANNOYING, patch note says

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Hotfix 10/6/2022

after the update nothing works anymore, the error messages are (in ordered by time, pls note the error messages are in German, so this translation may or may be not correct)
1. checksum for manifest not correct (yeah totally helpful)
2. you need to update the launcher (yeah, really would like to do that)
3. you don't have an elite dangerous key (Okaaaaay, but i played this morning)

i did already all the things, that I found on the internet und basically after 2 hours of reading and applying fixes, i'm now back to error message nr. 1. So can please inform that guy who is responsible for this cluster fun, that it would be a great idea to push working update files to steam, thank you so much !

Regards Liedermaus

Update
If I start the the software manually it seems to work, but obviously it does not connect to steam. So the problem is the launcher, COME ON guys, how hard can it be to create a working launcher. Alternatively can someone list the parameters I need to start the application manually correct with steam support ?

Update2
I found it, the reason is actually quite simple, the error message was correct:
Steam-Trainee DID install the wrong manifest-file at least for German. So could you PLEASE update the German manifest-file to the correct checksum-values,THANK YOU SO MUCH....
If you encounter the same problems, just set the language to English.
Actually it was quite simple to find, after making sure it is not the registry (guys, you should really upgrade your uninstall routine to delete these entries, there are a gazillion entries left even after the uninstall) and the AppData directories.

I think that you have just been unlucky, since it seems to have worked OK for everyone else.

Have you verified the integrity of the files in your Steam library?

yes, of course. this is when i get manifest-file checksum error.
and no this this has nothing to do with bad luck, this has all to do with bad software design. This so called launcher is nothing but a glorified script, with some HTML-pages and some settings for the parameters. Just look at how many, "fix-it" videos, fixes, hints, tricks ... are online and you will see, it is not only me. If in case of this manifest checksum thingy you could just download a working version of the the launcher manually, this would fix it for everyone. Also if I uninstall it and then install it again, it should work. Again no, you get the same errors, probably because the uninstall does not really uninstall, because it leaves some entries in the registry or in AppData/local/whatever

So I will find it, but this level of support is really annoying, i can not even open a ticket...
