I took the liberty of FSSing the system first. This is what it looks like:
I let each scan resolve - mostly ice planets, a few rocky bodies, geological POIs only, nothing else. I'll visit the two NSPs that are in the system and see if there's anything of interest there.

The other type of tree in the POI was a similar, but red-colored one, Rubellum. In addition, I found a smattering of Candidum Peduncle pods, space-mushrooms by the look of them.

I thought the dinner was quite nice - I value good food too much to rely on the standard rations except if there's nothing else to eat. Besides, I left Jameson's just this morning and had stocked up with lots of ingredients for my kitchen unit.

I tried, but apparently my Research Limpets refuse to probe such sphincters on a general basis. Is this emergent AI of some kind? They had better do what I tell them! I probed a nearby pod instead and got a ..biological sample of some kind from it.

Yeah, the Research Limpets AFAIK only stick to some Mollusc types, most normal NSP things can't be "Limpeted"
The second NSP yielded more Viride Peduncle Trees, but also Ostrinum peduncle trees. Neither of these can be probed despite my best efforts and, indeed, light nudging with my Anaconda. Red glowing and pulsing lights on the Ostrinum ones. Red light district? Still not the best welcome I've seen. These, too, were accompanied by Candidum Peduncle pods. Nothing more in the NSPs than this. I'll map the rocky planets, just to have that done, the icy ones are unlikely to yield anything much.
I admittedly have no idea if they are edible to begin with. Best run them by your local xenogastronomer before implementing them as part of your diet!
I landed on the 2nd rocky moon of the primary gas giant planet, a desolate place, but that is perhaps to be expected so far from what we call civilization.
Not much more to do in this system, unfortunately, so I'll chalk it up as 'nothing to see here' and move on. There were lots of NSPs that I bookmarked, so I shall backtrack a bit and see if there's anything nice to find.
