Somone please fix this broken mission system!

I'm grinding Federation rep. No big deal save that I've been at 100% rank and allied for a month now and no rank up mission is coming.
Then I read that the engineer missions block the rank up missions so I have so clear them

In short I spend over a week and commit criminal acts to clear missions about a part of the game play that is impossible for me to care less about and get killed by pirates in a system I never wanted to be in, carrying cargo I never wanted to buy!

Just fix this <insert strong expletive of choice>!

I really don't give a fig about the engineers and I shouldn't have to to be able to rank up in the Federation!

And yes, being 5 mill and a real week play time down because I have to complete missions that unlock something I really could care less about ... I am irritated right now to say the least.

I would be glad to see 2.4 as a "Maintenance Release" with no new features. None at all just QoL enhancements and serious bug fixes, etc. Layering on new cosmetic features like "Holo-Me" atop of an unfinished foundation will always lead to unpredictable and most cases undesirable results. The wonderful new camera system doesn't help when the target destination port for a long-haul mission simply doesn't exist or half-rendered with no way to interact with it and dock.

In my mind I just think of the game as "Late-Release" Beta and that somehow helps sorting it all out. RSI uses the opposite approach but the downside of that is they may never release a finished product that lives up to the vision and the surrounding hype. Striking some kind of balance must be an extremely tough challenge and they have a lot more resources than Frontier.

Totally agree.

Gets my vote.

Call it 2.3.5 if 2.4 is already taken, but a 'zero no features' release would be appreciated.

Thing is, even the most nonsensical combinations haven't been worked out.
Example:
Got a chained mission from faction A. Surface scan mission in System X. Accepted.
Got inbox from faction A 'Oi, that shady faction A peeps have something going on in X, investigate!'...
Yeah.
Went to spy on the same faction that gave me the mission, breaching a security perimiter, getting wanted in the process by faction A, returned and got paid.
By the time the bounty transformed to a fine which i paid back.

Welcome to world of Elite:Dangerous, where nothing makes banana.
[big grin]
Doesn't matter, had lulz.

Same happened to me with the a 'wetwork' mission, I can't claim it because I'm now wanted by the same faction that gave me the mission!! - I wouldn't have minded but I'm building my rep prior to the CG there on Thursay - hopefully my 'wanted' status will have cleared by then!

Been working my Imperial rank - very close to unlocking the Cutter, and no problems getting Rank missions - gone up 4 ranks over 3 days. But I can say that not every system, no matter how well they like you, offers navy rank missions. Seems some don't offer them at all, and others are ready to give them up as soon as that gauge hits 100%

Pray tell which systems offer these missions of which you speak been stuck at duke +100% for over a week and still no mission.

RSI didn't go console. That should explain it all right there. RSI also has most of the features ED should have had a while ago. ED or SC was my choice. I choose poorly. But got SC anyhoot shortly after EDs console announcement, and better off that I did. Some actual gameplay there, no bubbles to limit the gameplay and I'll never have to see another USS/POI again.

Starting to think FD doesn't have a means to get out of their bubble with this game.

Progression missions still appear, but they now look like every other mission, for no good reason. You have to read the missions description carefully to find out is a naval advancement one. The next rank will be listed under the reward.

Is this true?? anyone got a screenshot so i now know what they look like.

They have words Naval in title, but the rest sounds just like other type of missions.

For some strange reason FD think this is better than good old "naval progression opportunity", straight and clear.

So what would you propose after the next patch unfixes every thing again?
