Sony UK has Elite Dangerous as a PSVR title

I'd be tempted to buy, if Elite came on PSVR.

Playing titles like Dirt Rally the quality of PSVR on a regular PS4 is really good. Looking at Eve Valkyrie also ok. I guess Elite has some higher standards regarding shiny graphics... but for me, if they would care to release a bit blurry VR version I'd be ok with it.

However, since I have not heared any official comment that PSVR Elite will come true anytime soon, I highly doubt this...

Watch out Lab, Nemo is baiting you! Since you didn't specify PSVR for PS4, and Nemo believes PS5 is coming out this year, he might actually prove you wrong.

Then again, ED for PS5 might not be released until many months after after PS5 is released, so you're probably safe after all ;)

But the ps5 will be able to play the current version of ED. What ever that current version will be in the 4th. qt. If he looses, it will be a close race between the ps5 coming out or his getting to Colonia in a stock winder. LOL

Can I have your stuff? No really, I'll happily take it!
;) if I decide to switch to PC, I'll let you know before garbage can is opened ;)

Seriously - understand that "throw into garbage" as some kind of figure of speech, related to ED ... probably I'd keep PS4 cos of another games which are totally fine there - mostly my favourite NFL Madden (the reason why I bought PS). But yes, in such case ED license and Hotas would be for sale (not sure if license can be "resold" - have digital distribution copy)

Without FSD engineering?

Backwards?

At least he could enjoy doing it in VR though :p

Blindfold. I'm not buying VR, doesn't matter what is launched. I've tried VR with my phone and a headset. It's a cool gimmick for a while but I wouldn't want to spend the hours I spend in ED with it strapped to my head.

I find it interesting that people think Sony wouldn't dare "stretch the truth" (I won't say spin again) about ED being on PSVR for fear of backlash, but they would launch a PS5 SO quickly after the launch of PS4 (relative to the last gen lifecycle).

When Ed was on Lave Radio the other day he got asked about this and although he didn't exactly say no, it was pretty much as clear as he could make it that PS4 wasn't ever going to get ED on PSVR. I suspect this is just Sony spin to try and make sales for the VR headset.

This. Honestly guys, I know that we all would like it to happen, but it's quite simply not gonna. Listen to that audio snipped by yourself, I think that Ed was as clear as one could be without outright saying "Nope, sorry".

A proper VR headset is a totally different experience to using your phone. If you enjoy gaming I would recommend you at least check VR out in a shop or other available location as it really is a whole new way to play games and is very immersive, even in its first proper iteration. It might convince you that it’s more than just a gimmick like 3D was. I play Skyrim for hours and that looks like a PS3 game. It’s just so much fun running around a massive open world using a bow and arrow :)

OK I'm open to giving it a try. As I rarely venture out of the house of a weekend though I don't know when that opportunity will arise!

I tried out an oculus rift at a promotional event and it blew my mind. If PSVR is nearly as good then it will be a blast...but then if Sony are using Elite Dangerous as a promo thing for VR isnt there a bit of breach of duty in there somewhere as its false advertising?

Hello folks,

This is an error on the PlayStation VR website and we have contacted Sony to correct it. Remember to look at our social media channels, forums and newsletters for all official announcements.

We have no immediate plans to announce any further information about PlayStation VR.

"Immediate" is an interesting adjective to use. It's still pretty early in 2018, so CMDR Lab "running to Colonia" may want to start engineering that Sidewinder now, LOL ;)
