I've stuck with this from the initial release of Odyssey, having preordered it. But with patch 9.01, space combat is completely unplayable.
Eg. in a haz res site, you literally have no idea who is shooting at you if you take on a wing. In a team, if your teammate attacks someone, you have no idea who is attacking you.
It's completely unplayable. It defeats the purpose of the game. I know it's Elite "Dangerous" but this is Elite "Impossible".
What baffles me is how this got past any sort of regression testing??? Fly into any area (on a planet surface, nav beacon, resource site, literally anywhere out of supercruise), target a ship. Attack it.
Furthermore some of the ships that you are attacking seem unable to recognise you as hostile and dumbly wait to be blown up. It's been like that for years for ships that are going to hyperspace away when you attack them (they never enter hyperspace and wait for you to blow them up, dumbly) but this is an entirely new level of absurdity.
Could FDev perhaps start littering their code with assert(false) when they come across things that should work fundamentally but do not.
Honestly completely baffled and quite disgusted/disappointed/flabbergasted.
