Space dust in supercruise.

Good morning,

Is there any way to remove the spacedust when in supercruise? I'm playing on 3 27inch screens and it's giving me a headache lol.

Cheers, AL

It's mostly I think the dust moving beyond the ship past my fov. I could turn the two monitors off, but that seems weak.

Unbelievably, this hideous 1980''s whiteout was increased a while back, the occasional dot would be ample.
Edit: playing ps4 so stuck with it.

Space is so dusty, somebody should definitely do something about it. Maybe Hudson could. When you look at the galaxy map there's huge patches of dust everywhere. Then there's even intergalactic dust, this thing is just out of control. I've heard some people are so accustomed to space dust that they can't even tell their trajectory in space without looking at the dust all around.

I wish I could just get rid of space dust in SC but leave the dust in normal space. I tried the dust buster mod for a while, and while I enjoyed not having the dust in SC I found that it was disorienting in normal space to not have a reference for my direction of travel. Direction of travel in supercruise is not a concern, because that is always "forwards."

I want to point out something else that people may not be aware of: The dust effect is altered (strengthened) by anisotropic filtering. Forcing high levels of anisotropic filtering in your video drivers makes space dust visuals more intrusive, which is unfortunate -- because as much as I hate space dust, I hate it more that ship decals and planet terrain turn blurry when viewed at sharp angles.

You can remove the dust either in SC or in normal space, or both. Check out the dust buster mod one of the posters in here linked.

You're right. I was actually just looking at it again, and there is an option to remove dust only in certain situations. The last time I looked into the mod was right after it was released and I think at the time it was an all-or-nothing kind of thing if I remember right, so I just passed on it. But at any rate, I'll be using it again to remove SC dust..

Really, it as fine before they added all the snowstorm and dust effects. At least we don't have to look at the inter dimensional beings that gibber in the spaces beyond our limited abilities of comprehension.:D
