False equivalency, that's why.
Space dust is nothing but a bad indicator for the direction you're going.
It's annoying and ugly and barely does what it is supposed to do.
If you look through the forums, you will find a "mod" to remove the space dust... it's tolerated by FDev, so no need to add a function for that.
That's only for nvidia GPUs...
Would be nice to have it as an option to turn it off as it doesn't look good, Also an option to have clean windows, They look like they've been cleaned with 40 grit sandpaper, They could have another effect instead like a slight bit of reflection, Dust build up in the corners etc...

I imagine someone during alpha likes space dust from "X-Wing vs TIE fighter" and didn't like the box in box marker system of Elite 2, so brought it over. I also use a mod to remove it which makes relative motion a little hard to figure out sometimes, but it's just so junky looking... and also... what's it supposed to be anyway? Actual dust? In space?
