Hey Frontier, you guys are good at making SIM games right? Why not make a Space Station Sim game where players get allocated a plot from a planet within the ED bubble. They build a station and do all the typical SIM stuff (not visible to players). If the station runs at a reasonable level of effectiveness the player can then elect to make the station permanent within ED for a certain amount of "ED credits" depending on the resources used. At this point it is a station where players can land and interact (and maybe one day walk within). The SIM player gains credits over time and bonus credits if an ED player interacts with the station and when they have enough credits they can buy another plot within ED (for making more permanent stations - they can of course build as many non-permanent stations in their game as they wish).
This would be another money making opportunity as well as a way to get a diverse range of non-procedurally generated stations, which would be more interesting should we ever get space legs.
