Game Discussions SpaceBourne 2

A few screens. On the Discord Channel dev said that beside the workload of bugfixing now because so much input is coming from so many players, ship interiours could be a thing after fixing most bugs and implenting the features who are planned for now.

Yesterday the campagin didn let me time to explore :) but try to test planetary simulation this weekend.

atmo entry on a stormy planet

Couldn´t check the space simulation not that much but the planets are definitely moving in the Systems around the stars because I had to fly to a system where the game started and the stations and planets had different positions... maybe after patching?

yesterday I landed on a planet where you could see a shadow from a Tower and waited 10 Minutes but I saw no moving. Couldnt find a info about planetary rotation only the gravity and the weather types are listet as info on every planet.

Will try to ask on discord maybe the dev could explain it. ObsidianAnt should do a interview ;)

And it could be that planet was either tidal locked to the star or had a very slow rotation. There are some engineering bases in Elite where the base may be in darkness for days before finally rotating around to the day side, so that I become aware of the brilliance of the stellar forge over time rather than right away. That's okay by me. What bothers me is when I spend days or even weeks in a system and nothing ever changes, making it painfully obvious that the skybox is just an elaborate painting (cough X4 cough). Almost as disappointed, but not quite so bad, is when you quickly realize that the god Apollo is literally charioting the sun through the sky, with all the moons and other planets just sitting there in the same spot forever (cough Space Engineers cough No Man's Sky cough).

This is where Elite has "ruined other space games" for me, because I expect to see the heavens moving though the sky (from my planet-bound reference point), and planets and moons actually "wandering", and even seeing the constellations change over many months. I know it's a lot to ask from a game, so I'll settle for a rotating planet, and I'll get even more excited if moons move through the heavens and change phase.

Helios carts the sun around. Apollon is god of arts.

do you think there will be a Mitterand Hollow in the game or a reasonable facsimile ?

I landed on that thing (in ED) but it was a challenge (got it on the second try). Once you get the speed right its not so bad and its worth the show.
Have a nice day

Out of curiosity, is there gameplay outside of missions, like Elite has? I've read that a lot of the story-driven gameplay current hits "dead ends" because dev hasn't had time to finish the stories. I can live with this if I can trade, bounty hunt, explore, and do other "blaze my own trail" activities like I can in Elite.

I've watched streamers play this, and it should make the Oddy team feel lower than dirt. ONE GUY did all this.

The ground combat is everything that Oddy wanted to be, but playable. Yes, arcade-like game, but 10/10 effort. All those waiting for The One True Sim will need hibernation chambers...

That someone hasn't bought the game yet. I'm waiting for early access to be over. I suspect it will not have that level of detail. Sorry.
You're not the someone I'm looking for, LOL. But to your point, I'm told that there are boxed-in zones on planets, like Mass Effect, rather than fully rendered planets like NMS, Elite, and Space Engineers. I can live with that, but it would still be nice if the sun rose in the morning and set in the afternoon, like it does in ESO and other "flatland" games.

This is a list of FAQs that answers a few questions. About 20 something questions down is the topic of night/day orbital mechanics. There are some other good bits of info.
This game may be my next purchase (even before I get the latest X4 DLC, KE). I know its early in development but I have experience buying startup games. I bought Astrox and Helium Rain and have already played and uninstalled them; not because they are not good games imho, but they just did not scratch the itch I was looking for. I consider those purchases Investments in the gaming world (especially for small or one man dev teams).

Thanks for this! Someday I might do the same. There are few games I regret buying, and the ones I do are as much based on my tastes as the game itself. For example, I bought Infinity Battlescape but never could get into it. It just doesn't "scratch that itch" in execution, even though it sounded like a perfect game to me on paper. EGS is another such game, though I've played enough EGS that I at least got some of my money's worth from it (IB was purely a donation at this point). Even Elite Dangerous, which I've since quit and uninstalled, gave me more than my money's worth in entertainment value before I fell out of love with it. Odyssey, on the other hand, and Frontier as a company, will not be getting any "donations" from me.

My problem these days is I already have too many enjoyable games in my catalog competing for my time. Even worse, each one of these game requires a college degree to play, LOL. So I'll likely continue on with these beloved games and save Spacebourne for much later when it's done and I've played games like X4 and Space Engineers into the ground.

More stuff. Most of my space games I started making money with either mining or trading (rarely did I make many credits with combat). You can tell it needs work on the asteroid graphics by how they pop from one model to another. But, its early access for the testers to test. This is a good vid to get you making credits. Have a wonderful day

Beats the latest loot box grab on Warships.

and now the inevitable occurs: I must compare before I buy ...Paranoia sets in
So I draw a comparison between Starfield and Space Bourne 2
Lots of pros and cons (I need my ocd to help here)
Graphics > Starfield
UI > ?
Gameplay > ? but probably SF
Availability > SB2
Galactic limits (for lack of a better term) > SB2
So many things to look at. ... all comments are imho
Have a nice day

Graphics > Starfield
This can go both ways. One might rightly argue that Star Citizen has better graphics than X4 Foundations (hey, it's the game I'm playing these days!) but if SC runs at 10 fps on my computer and X4 runs at a steady, smooth 60 fps, then for me X4 takes the win.

At first glance, I'd say that Starfield is going to be way more demanding on a PC that SB2, but just how demanding we just don't know. Not all beautiful games break PCs, as RDR2 aptly proves.
