There are a few things I think need to be looked at.
First thing are mines. I love using mines when they are engineered properly. Was at the last community goal and took several PvP players by surprise when I disabled them with mines and got away in a non combat Python.
But why can we not have large size mine launchers? A small let's you load 1 mine and then shoot it, a medium let's you load 3 and launch then relatively quickly. I think a large would be nice if it could increases the number of mines launched to 4, but allows you to launch then all at once, creating more of a mine field behind you. They don't need more damage as the engineered effects are worth the current damage. And why can mines be detected by enemy ships? A skilled pilot paying attention could just fly around them... making them pointless.
Turreted Weapons
In PvE they are okay. But in PvP they are useless. They do 30% less damage than gimbals which do 30% less than fixed.
Frontier you guys adjusted fixed weapons to make them more appealing because everyone was using gimbals. Now people are using fixed, and some are still using gimbals, but no one uses turrets.
Not everyone in the world wants a to min/max shields with boosters and cell banks. Some of us like having strong shields supplemented by strong armor. The armor makes us slow and we are unable to turn as rapidly against faster more agile ships.
Even with Grade A sensors engineered for long range, I find my turrets struggle to hit my targets unless the target is directly in front of me. And since turrets are relying on on sensors, which they should be, why do they have jitter if they are controlled by ships computers.
I also think laser fall off damage range needs to be increased; 600 meters is nothing when in combat, in this game. Most engagements happen around 1500 to 3000 meters when your not in the world's fastest most agile ships.
