ive been reading online advice, looking for satellites and visiitng bases with one + in their name and data scanning but i am unable to find these or satellites to scan for that matter. I guess theres a lot of OOD info on the net about these.

Any help appreciated on the quickest way to obtainSpecialized Legacy Firmwares

I see them as mission rewards, often for planetary scan missions - which give an added credit bonus while collecting them.

thanks Ethaidan i'll go and have a look, tomorrow. Today i went looking for Satellites and found none, instead I lost about 10m insurance getting stuck in Neutron Star hell trying to charge my drive as it threw me into the zone and broke my ship. Some nights it all just goes wrong )

Doesn't have to be specificially SLF. You could trade data mats at data material broker's. I suggest collecting high rank mats to trade for SLF, for higher effeciency.

+1 for look for modified embedded firmware and trade down.

Any of the firmwares, cracked, consumer etc can all be traded for SLF.

Planetary base scans are good sources too.

Do missions or use materials trader like the guy above said so it shouldn't be that much hassle to get them.

If you don't want to trade mef for it you can get it reliably from satellites found in installations or encoded u.s.s in close orbit of a populated earth like world (also you can just re log and re scan the satellites over and over in installations)

when was the last time you scanned a satalite ingame?

I did this before material traders (but not since obviously). It is a very reliable way to get SLF. But yeh, as you said, better is to do missions for MEF (usually deadly or elite missions) and trade them down at a rate of 36 SLF to 1 MEF (not bad).

Didnt they remove satalites then?
