Species Field Guide - T. rex

I hope Baryonyx will be the most liked theropod dinosaur in Jurassic world Evolution 2 cuz since this species likes mostly fish rather than Meat on occasion it would make sense if Rex and other large Carnivores could get along with this species except this species would we get along with Spinosaurus and pterosaurs.

Not gonna happen.

If large carnivores like T-rex liked Baryonyx for any reason, it would be because of their flavor. Don't forget, larger predators prey on smaller ones all the time... having a unique dietary preference doesn't mean much when Baryonyx itself would be on the menu.

The rex looks amazing; however, I have a question. We see that the two T-Rex shown in the SFG have different base colors but the same pattern and pattern color. This was the case with the Coelophysis SFG as well. That being said, are we able to change the pattern color as you previously stated, or was it a miscommunication?
Hi! You can still change the pattern and skin colours of your dinosaurs and reptiles.
Man, I really hope I can house 2 together in reference to TLW. Also, I hope there's a separate model for the male rexes from TLW and JP3.
Points to post earlier in the thread

Is that a yes?

They've often shown 2 t-rex together in screenshots, and exiting a hatchery together as a pair so, no way it's a no. Too much media for confirming keeping 2 together.
Also the earlier post he pointed to even said so.

Jens: "T. rex is happy solitary, so if you think of it in terms of social requirements they are happy to be on their own.
However, they CAN be in groups so like the pair you saw in the species field guide. Naturally if things aren't good they could fight.
So in short, yes they can be a pair."

I'm happy :D , and the T-rex looks awesome. I never had Rexy much in JWE1 but things look to be changing.

I said "pattern and skin colours", which was meant to refer to both. You can change pattern colour and skin colour.
Yay! There were some worries in the community that we will only be able to change skin colour and the pattern colour will always be the same, so thank you for confirming that it is not the case, exciting. 🙂

Yes, you can have a pair of T. rex in the same enclosure :)

Thank you! Happy to hear it :)

Sorry, but does this mean the only change applicable to the pattern is the colour, but not the shape of the pattern itself?

You can change the base skin color, pattern color, and pattern shape. We didn't see the pattern color feature in the development build, but the other two were present.

You can change the base skin color, pattern color, and pattern.
I also wonder if we get to choose 2 pattern colors. From what I have seen, like in the T-Rex field guide, The Rexes had a yellow and red color scheme within its pattern, also in the Megalosaurus screenshot, it has a different color above its eyes separate from the black patterning across its back. Another example is the majungasaurus with a red crest and light blue back patterns, and also the qianzhousaurus had blue and Orange patterning down the back and side

So to clarify, does this mean we can edit "Base Skin Color, Pattern, and Pattern Color" implying there are multiple colors for multiple patterns or we can edit "Base Skin Color and Pattern Color" where the Pattern remains the same with every gene but the colors change with it?

The first one from the sound of it

This was already mentioned in the Customisation Feature Focus, so I'll just quote what I said there:
You will be able to change the base colour of the dinosaur, as well as the colouration of the dinosaur's skin pattern. Colouration is selected from a set of different colour options, and while you won't be able to make a fluorescent pink T. rex, you will have a wide variety of skin and pattern colours to choose from.
See the thread below for the full details:

Yes, but the ambiguity was whether pattern OR pattern colour would be changed.

According to what you said, we can change
  • Pattern Shape;
  • Pattern Colour;
  • Skin Colour
