A release around Easter time like the past 2 years seems like a very likely scenario
Easter pack maybe? Nothing but bunnies!
i was expecting to get news today but no but ok it just tells us that next week it seems to me this week we will get some news but not yet the news on all the update and dlc I think then the launch will be on April 5th to April 12th then it will be 6 months since NA and also almost four Months since europe so it seems to me something between 5 to 12 april will be the launch but if to tell the truth I have no idea when will be the announcement of the dlc and update then we will have to wait..
I think I figured it all out now. The 2 spring DLCs we got in the past, both released on a tuesday within the same weak as easter sunday, meaning this is of big importance for sales. If they were to go by the same scheduling, then we can expect the DLC to release on 12.4. (17.4. being easter). Now based on the SEA animal pack timeline, since we expect this to probably be an animal pack, the new feature reveal should be next thursday on the 24.3. then.
However I have to note that this has been the biggest drought we faced ever since covid started (SA pack to Australia was 20 weeks) (if my predictions are right, then EU pack to mystery DLC will be 17 weeks). The difference between the last two winter and spring DLCs has been 16 weeks in both cases.
With such a long distance and development time, my personal hopes for an aviary pack are pretty high now, because spring would be the most fitting season, and that would totally make all the wait worth it for me. Remember that it last years spring update that announced the new format of animal pack DLCs, something very unexpected!

Totally random idea, but what if the actual base game update is not only flying mechanics but a handful of "core" birds as well? And then we don't get an aviary pack but we get 2-3 birds mixed in with each pack instead. And then the upcoming DLC could be something like Amazon with several more birds in with that.

With a realistic view we can now expect the 5th of April if it is a Standard pack or which I hope and think for an animal pack the 12th of April. Next week we will get the teaser and the teaser always was the week before update and DLC announcement which will happen in 2 weeks. And then the presentation of the 8 animals with two polls and the dev diary will last further two weeks which makes the 12th.
Iben posted in discord that frontier released planco and pz dlc before easter, and really matches, specially with easter sales.
I saw that too. I think it's honestly quite compelling given it's consistently 5 days before Easter. So with that pattern in mind, here's what I think we'll see:
- 1.9 Feature Focus Post - Thursday 24th March
- 1.9 Update Announcement - Tuesday 29th March
- DLC Announcement - Thursday 31st March
- Animal Showcases - 1st-10th April (exact days depend on the pack format)
- DLC Developer Journal - Monday 11th April
- 1.9/DLC Release - Tuesday 12th April 2022

I hope this will happen! Looks pretty close with frontier showing animals packs!
Maybe they will give us like 10 animals. I feel this is the longest wait for some reason.
The longest wait was the 4-month drought of 2020, going from April to August without DLC and seldom official word. Wasn't the most hopeful time for PZ...
Yeah! Covid really hit everyone, we even didnt have nothing for anniversary, glad we got lemur for year 2, I hope this year we will get something. The good thing is the summer dlc could be release in june-july. The wait could be short between april and june-july, like the north america animal pack and europe pack.
Still ,I remember Frontiers kept our morale alive with a little "story-telling" on social media back then if memory serves.'The Great Drought of 2020' hit us all hard.
