There are several classifications, you can find them in the wikipedia page of biome, and in most of them temperate grassland is part of alpine terrain.

There is no "official" organization to set an official classification, but there are a few generally accepted and somewhat overlapping classifications.

Well, in the Netherlands we have 13 EZA zoo,s. Only 2 have no aquariums (although they have so fish like koi and other carps so all have multiple spiecies of fish). In 4 of those aquari even a big and famous part of the zoo.

On the other hand 4 of the zoos don’t have aviarys. That said the alle do have birds in some form. Groud birds or in a tropical hall.

To me both aviarys (or at least lots of birds spicies) and aquariums are a important part of a modern (or less modern zoo).

I’m very jealous that you have so many zoos in such a small country! I’m not familiar with any of the zoos in the Netherlands (since I’ve never had the opportunity to go), so I can’t comment directly on any of them. I will say, though, that koi etc. in ponds aren’t aquaria in game-terms (IMO) - they’re more like wildlife (in the same way, wild birds that live at zoos (which all zoos obviously have) do not qualify as aviary species. (BTW, I would love both free-living birds and fish to be added to the game).

On the other hand, any structure with flying birds (I.e., a tropical hall) is an aviary. As to ground birds, unless they’re flightless birds or have their wings clipped, then they are (in game terms) aviary species. - do the zoos with only ground birds (assuming you don’t mean flightless birds) have them free-living and unclipped?

Yes we are very lucky on that department and just across the boarder in Germany even more zoos al very close.
Almost all zoos are also very modern with rare species.

Per example the zoo closest to my house is specialised in apes and monkeys and they had poboscis monkeys until recently (they where the only one in Europe), sadly two died short after each other so the last one was send to Singapore zoo I believe.

I see your point on the fish and I mostly agree, though I must say the fish are taken care of by keepers. In a Dutch program that followed staff in the zoo. they even did surgery on a koi I believe (although I can’t remember witch ).

If you count every structure with birds as an aviary there are two zoo without aviarys.
The one has no birds exept rheas and the other has pelicans, stork and flamingos, of coarse they are clipped but these birds are in most Dutch zoos.

So in average, aquariums and birds are not equally important I guess.

As a last add its fair to say, one zoo is an all bird zoo (they have some monkeys). Called avifauna.
On the other site burgers zoo Arnhem has the biggest aquarium in Europe I believe (at least the most impressive one 💪).

I do not know if I'm the only one who thinks this but feels like something is going to come this week or week and if we hear about something I do not think it will still be the full of 1.9 update I think we will maybe hear about part of the update( like the Restaurants or the Heightmaps). Because the last few days have been very, frontier very quiet on social media and we already know that .. lol so maybe this week or next week we will hear about something. 🦥

I would really like that. That would be the only good news I’d hear those days

I think we might hear something Thursday or next Tuesday. But not for sure

There's always a "free update" feature post before updated & DLC are announcement. Hope it's sooner rather than later.

If the previous years are anything to go by, then we shouldn't expect anything this week. At the earliest next week, but even then.

It will be interesting to see if it actually ends up being released a week after the JWE2 DLC again as it happened in December.
I'm not really a believer in this myself, but if it happens again this time, then we might have a new clue to look for in the future. A clue that seems to fall before the usual clues we are looking for.

it could be. Just cautioning to not get disappointed if it's not.

Not to you personally I mean the community as a whole. I'm part of that too, I'm eager for new content, but don't really anticipate anything for nearly or even maybe over another month.
