SRV Cargo Scoop bug

In my absolute opinion Elite Odyssey is the greatest game ever made, but..... they must fix the game breaking srv cargo scoop bug asap. I hope the developers are working on this over the weekend, as it's that important. I can't play this wonderful game with this awful bug.

Thanks DrinkyBird. I read the 31st January fix from your link, which is great news! :D Unfortunately, i will be back at work. I do 24 hour shifts. Looking forward to next weekend material gathering. :)

I can scoop ONE item with my rover. Then everything else just gets pushed around. Yes I hope this gets fixed soon.

That's interesting. I have been exploring and planet surfaces for Exobiology specimens and geology. Whilst doing so I obviously come across a lot of metals to recover and also items from wreck sites. Then this week the SRV cargo scoop would deploy and collect the first item but from then onwards as @wolferr mentions in his post I just end up shoving the rest around. Please Devs can we get this fixed please as it is spoiling my game, and I do enjoy Odyssey.

Game breaking? Can’t play? Erm since when did this become Elite Dangerous Cargo Scoop edition?? Unless you want to do ONE of the many activities in this game then it’s working perfectly fine. Combat, mining & trading are all working WITHOUT the need for the SRV scoop so your definition of game breaking is a tad over the top

True, but gathering materials is one of the top uses of the SRV so it's a big issue that needs resolving ASAP, to be fair. I spent most of my weekend trying to get a dedicated Ark server set up for my son to play so I didn't get an opportunity to play Elite, I take it disembarking on foot and getting back in isn't a workaround either?

Afaik it does not but they are aware and I’m sure the devs are doing everything they can to get it working asap. I also appreciate that it’s what a lot of people use the SRV for (myself included) however, bandying about the term “game breaking” is just nonsensical.

Aye, I have this now... it's a slight improvement over "Materials floating above me at 23m up" and frankly it now scoops cargo about as reliably as the janky bouncy impossible-to-handle-piece-of-crap-that-doesnt-know-its-a-thousand-years-in-the-future as I expect of it. So yes it's a bug, but to me, it seems more realistic. Sure am glad I don't have VR working properly for when I have to get into one of those pukemobiles.

Don't understand what your point is @YORKSH1RE NEO, don't think @OutofSpace is saying it's "Game-Breaking" but it's spoiling his game and making his game side play such that he can't get his items collected and therefore he "Can't play" and get what he needs to further his character. I'm sure you don't mean to sound as though you are putting him down, but it does come across as such on the first read. If like me if you are into exploring, collecting items planet side with your SRV and you have this issue, to me, a minor issue, and for others, it may be more so. But I'm sure when the Devs get it fixed (and it appears that on Thursday we may be fortunate to have that done) life in the game will be back to normal for those of us who aren't that into Combat, mining and trading at this time, or in my case anytime soon.

I agree with your comment about floating materials, irritating.

Have you read the OP? Clearly states that the bug is game breaking. This means the game is unplayable by anyone doing anything which it clearly isn’t, especially given the last CG didn’t even make it to Sunday. And that was my point precisely. It’s not game breaking, not even close so stop over dramatising the issue and call it for what it is. Irritating and inconvenient? Sure. Game breaking? No

Thank you for all your replies.
@YORKSH1RE NEO; You are quite right, but what i meant is that it is game breaking for me. I am normally very carful not to trigger people on the internet and i unfortunately omitted to write "for me" on this occasion.
Please accept my apology, i in no way intended to trigger, offend and/or hurt your feelings.

Not sure whether this is serious or sarcastic buuuuut….no apology needed and my feelings are 100% intact. No triggers were caused either. This is an open forum for discussion/debate 👍🏼 Happy scooping!!

I don't think that's new behaviour, it has always done that. I didn't think it was a bug, I assumed it was my SRV crushing the other materials under the wheels...
Hmmm... no that shouldn't happen after collecting the first one. Materials do indeed degrade over a set timespan and vanish when they reach 0% and if I'm right you can speed up that "degrading" process by running over them with a SRV but even that needed a few runs before they vanished. 🤷‍♂️

I could I suppose test for it by driving over them with the scoop closed and see what happens. If it's a scoop-bug it wouldn't be triggered because the scoop isn't operating. If it's the SRV crushing them, that should still happen... next time I am down on such a location I'll give it a whirl for my own interest though I don't expect to learn anything actionable in either case.
