SRV controls...

FDev, We need a Yaw control for the SRV mid flight!!!

Had to self destruct just because I was unable to get out of a valley, you know the kind of valley you find on bodies like Ross 779 3c...

I asked for more controls when I first got horizons.

Yaw and strafe (in the air of course).
And to be able to point the thrusters backwards so we can use them to boost and generally do ridiculous things at even higher speeds.

:D

You can leave the planet's surface by exiting the game and running the non-horizons client. You should end up back in your ship in orbit around the planet.

You could have "Cheated" by logging off, then logging in to the Non-Horizons version of ED(SRV would be back in your ship) :D

So basically you want a super compact SLF ? :D

It's so frustrating to be stuck in some kind of crack on an ice planet... and just because the SRV can't boost, nor yaw in the air, you have to either struggle to get out, or you just go boom...

Either we get additional controls for that damn thing, or we get legs to climb out and walk out of this kind of situation...

If you rolled forwards or backwards you could have basically then used your thrusters to move you out might have taken a few charges but you should have been able to get out of there.

Either that or it's cool that you can get stuck. Doesn't it add an element of danger? When you're down in some kind of crevasse, your recalled ship will only land up on the plateau and you don't know for sure if you'll be able to get up there for pick up?

Some way for another player to be able to winch you out maybe, a few extra thrust options like the OP perhaps, could be good .. but what some call incovenient, I'd definitely prefer to think of as a risk you take. My two florins.

You can't possibly imagine what kind of crevasse I'm talking about... the kind of thing that is deep enough to fit half of an anaconda, nose pointing skywards x) the only thing that would have saved me would have been a yaw control or a grappling hook xP (or climbing out of that useless scarab and just walk away...)

(or climbing out of that useless scarab and just walk away...)

Gravity eh? If you're on a tiny body the thrusters work better obviously but traction through the tyres is rubbish for hill climbing. And vice versa, if you have tyre grip thrusters are useless. Somewhere out there must be an optimum planet size for the best of both worlds and the galaxy's steepest climbable mountain right?

Scarab is still the best moon bugg .. surface recon vehicle in the galaxy though imho ;)

The SRV has exceptional grip/brakes if you manage to land on the cliff face sideways and climb by successive thruster hops. For that you only really need the roll controls we have.

I'm too lazy for a video, so that will have to do:

Was a little less flat where I have been, so yes, that does work, I already did that many times, but this time it was a bit harder...
