Maybe not related but might be worth mentioning...
If any of your camera-controls conflict with the SRV controls, it'll screw up the way your SRV works.
It's been a while since I figured this out so I'm a bit hazy on the details but, basically, when you're flying a ship the game prioritises the ship's controls ahead of camera controls.
When you're in the SRV, however, the game seems to prioritise camera controls ahead of SRV controls.
So, by way of a simplistic example, let's say you have the "Enter" key bound as "throttle to zero" for your ship, you have it bound as "handbrake" on the SRV and you also have it bound as "enable free camera" in the camera controls.
When you're flying your ship, pressing "Enter" will set the throttle to zero. If you enter camera mode and then press "Enter" it'll enable the free-camera. Great stuff.
When you're in your SRV, though, the game will always assume that pressing the "Enter" key means you're trying to enable free-camera mode - even when you're not IN th camera suite.
Obviously, you want to try and avoid having multiple bindings for the same key but when the camera suite has something like 30-odd controls, it's not easy.
That's why I ended up mapping all the camera controls to a dedicated USB gamepad.
