Yup. Shadow of Chernobyl (once patched and modded) I still think is an excellent game. Graphically dated (arguably even in its day) but the a-life added so much replayability to a great game-experience.Hmmm. Loved those original games.
So many games so little time!
So, it is indeed Stalker 2.Going by Eurogamer it's pretty buggy at the moment, but it does look promising. In a few months![]()
It's over 150GB, left it downloading at home while I'm at work, I can put up with a bit of jank, most of my favourite games are pretty jankyStalker 2 is released.

A Ukrainian voice with subtitles would be better. Hopefully this is an option somewhere/somehow.
And the blooming shaders seem to need to compile themselves at every first loading the game (GOG variant). I hope they get this patched ASAP as it's a right royal pain!
By why do the shaders recompile themselves every time? It seems odd/wrong to me! And it's... 'unhelpful'......There will be graphics mods cause S2 uses Unreal Engine 5.
Only did it the once for me...you have to recompile the shaders after a patch or new graphic drivers etc, otherwise it should only be the onceBy why do the shaders recompile themselves every time? It seems odd/wrong to me! And it's... 'unhelpful'...
Yeah Eurogamer didn't review it (or hadn't when I looked), they are sensibly waiting until they can actually report how good/buggy it is after playing the release version. The early reviewers played a version without a big day 1 launch patch.
Yup. I guess that I'm just lucky in that it's happening every time. 'Lucky'.Only did it the once for me...you have to recompile the shaders after a patch or new graphic drivers etc, otherwise it should only be the once![]()
Nope, I take that back. It's compiling shaders every start now so it must clear the cache when you quit the gameYup. I guess that I'm just lucky in that it's happening every time. 'Lucky'.
Yup. Plenty of on-line commentary saying the same. Hopefully something they'll fix pronto.Nope, I take that back. It's compiling shaders every start now so it must clear the cache when you quit the game![]()
There's plenty of those on my list. The stick drift when using a controller makes it virtually unplayable, I actually thought the pots on my Elite V2 controller were on the way out...besides it only being a few months old. I switched over to the Nacon V5 pro I use on the PS5 (which has contactless sensors on the sticks rather than potentiometers) only to find it just as bad. They seriously want to sort that out amongst the myriad of other bugs![]()
