Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

New PTU patch ( LINK ) It's nice they bring back old bugs once in a while to reminisce:

Sometimes they just change it up

New desync, worse than the old desync:

yep.....died a few days ago to an NPC, that was over a 1km away..........by a ram!

All you people who hate Star Citizen, why do you live in this thread? Where are the fans?

I guess I should be glad y'all didn't make your home in my Space Engineers thread, LOL :p
We don’t hate SC it’s just all the “never done before” we’re a bit tired off, it’s like reality and fantasy land is out of wack, everything I’ve seen until now is just a showroom, NPC don’t work, everything is PvP and PVE is just broken, however the graphic team is doing a great job.

1,650c and still accelerating, slowly

Didnt quote the 2nd one where you posted your max speed but should really have topped out at 2001, the max speed in the game and a tribute to Arthur C Clarke. Hope you scanned the Tourist Beacon while you were there, just flavour text about the Mug but a bit of lore anyway.

Rare Goods - the yellow ones in market like The Mug & the Gin - go up in price the further from source capping out at 166LY iirc any more than that and they stop increasing. Close to source they can actually lose money.

That's good info thanks, i'll move that stuff about 170 LY away.

On the speed, 2001, interesting little nugget.

Also, yes :)

But you have to admit that managerial incompetence and lying to customers, while not being the dictionary definition of a scam, is functionally equivalent - customers don't get what they paid for and CR, instead of riding off into the sunset, spends the cash on an impossible vanity project.

I don't think it's totally fair to call it a scam...but it's definitely one of the most epic grifts in history

The problem with that is its difficult to separate what's forced by CR, a marketing team that behaves, well, like a marketing team. its been said that some of the devs are frustrated with the marketing people for over promising or giving the wrong impressions, or a myriad of whatever else.

Nothing is ever black or white, its infinite shades of grey.

Its CR the CEO or not?

Basically what you are doing is shifting it from CR being nefarious to CR not being in control of those under him. Which would be surprising for someone who is painted as a micromanager.

And i'm sure plenty of the devs are frustrated with things, but they don't get to speak up to CR. Those who can speak up to CR are his inner circle of yes men who have known him for decades.

Guys, i think i'm done endlessly breaking down my opinions. this is why i ignore this relentless dissecting of everything i say, it never ends.

Just ignore us ;)

You don't have to reply or comment on things we say. The forum even allows you to block people if you find them too annoying.

I'm going to buy something to trade when i get there, any advice on what?

Hutton Orbital - go for the free Anaconda, stay for the memes.

Nope, nothing much to do there, no real reason to go unless you get a high paying mission taking you there and you don't mind the travel time.

Its more a rite of passage. You are not a real commander until you've been to Hutton.
