Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Juste remember, IAE has a few days in december this year that 2023 didnt have. Pretty sure CIG is counting in showing larger than usual sales in december.
I was just comparing Novembers, which is a valid thing to do - I don't care how CiG choose to place their sales, but if you want to defend them 🤷‍♀️

Here's the IAE sales, go ahead! This is the last manufacturer day, so they've got a fair bit to make up in the last 4 days of recap :)

Yeah we'll see for sure on IAE after it's whole lumbering run is over.

The most interesting long-term tale so far is the sign up numbers though. That signal ain't gonna flip based on ship brand sales etc.

How many days with sales was there this year by the way? I get the impression there was a lot more than previous years.

Yet they're having hard times coping with last year's revenues. So this wallet fatigue could explain the relatively poor iae?

Not sure what you think I am "defending" as I am just stating a fact: That there are still some days of IAE in december that 2023 didnt have and therefore december 2024 should have in there a bump compared to 2023, if everything else remains equal.

By the way your graph text resolution is pretty bad, cant even read what each column represents. November of each year, last one being 2024?

2024: from 22 nov to 5 dec, 14 days.

2023: from nov 17 to nov 30, 14 days.

Same number of days, but this time we have 5 of them in December.

Not sure I am reading the "sales tracker" info collated int his reddit post right, but according to those this IAE seems to be still very competitive compared to previous ones:

Day to day this IAE has allegedly even sold more than previous years so far. Although the following days may not get a similar bump to previous IAE due to RSI not having been a great sale this year, but all in all it´s far from being a big drop.

I mean, given CIG can state in the tracker whatever they want I do not think they will ever let it drop significantly, irrespective of the real sales figure.

I meant sales days for the whole year...

Oh, for that @StuartGT had a pretty good idea. In 2024 there has definitely been many more sale days than in 2023.

In terms of number of sales, not days, this year we had:
  1. Christmas (Luminalia) [til 8 Jan]
  2. In Case You Missed It [19-29 Jan]
  3. Siege Of Orison [26 Jan to 5 Feb]
  4. Free Fly [8-15 Feb]
  5. Valentines (Coramor) [8-19 Feb]
  6. Chinese New Year (Red Festival) [8-26 Feb]
  7. Capture The Idris [23-27 Feb]
  8. Jumptown [1-11 Mar]
  9. St Patrick's Day (Stella Fortuna) [15-25 Mar]
  10. Overdrive with F7C mk2 [15 Mar to 14 Jun]
  11. Jumptown again [4-15 Apr]
  12. P52 Merlin Referral-Reward [12 Apr to 2 May]
  13. 3.23 Live with Pulse & Pulse LX [11-14 May]
  14. Invictus [17-29 May]
  15. In Case You Missed Invictus [30-31 May]
  16. Alien Week [12-24 Jun]
  17. 3.23.1a Live with Xenothreat [14-25 Jun]
  18. Jumptown again again [2-10 Jul]
  19. Foundation Festival [12-19 Jul]
  20. Ship Showdown [15-29 Aug]
  21. 3.24 Live with Peregrine [29 Aug to 30 Sep]
  22. F8C Gold Ticket [30 Aug to 30 Sep]
  23. CitizenCon Digital Goodies [3 Sep to ?]
  24. Jumptown #4 [5-12 Sep]
  25. ATLS cashgrab [13 Sep to 10 Oct]
  26. Pirate Week [17-23 Sep]
  27. Blockade Runner [17-30 Sep]
  28. Halloween (Day Of The Vara) [3 Oct to 1 Nov]
  29. CitizenCon Paints & Merch [17 Oct to ?]
  30. 3.24.2 Live with Zeus [18 Oct to ?]
  31. Starlancer and CSV [20 Oct to ?]
  32. Save Stanton
  33. IAE [22 Nov to 5 Dec]
  34. Xmas & New Year (Luminalia) [Dec]
That is almost 3 sales per month. Roughly 290 days of sales, out of 365.

In 2023 Stu reckons it was around 2 per month or so, for 24 sale events total. We can estimate roughly 25-30% less sales days in 2023.

Here it is in graphical form. I suspect that sales will continue through all of December past the 5th. Invictus kept selling ships for 31 days after it ended. CiG won't publicize this but they'll keep selling.

They might need to have a second sale for the Anvil Paladin ... after they clarify whether it does actually have any pilot controlled guns

Edit: When forum posts impact on ship sales you can get a quick response :D
