Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Ah, I was wondering about this:

.. but Mike just explained that people were 'dancing' through locked doors ... emergent gameplay at its best :)
Limbo for ftw. Next level for sure

4.0 has broken Berks' sunny demeanor. He's just spent a prolonged period arguing with the 'Ship it, Live is broken anyway' crowd.

And making very reasonable points. (Adding new content which doesn't work just snowballs, etc). You can feel the cognitive dissonance fizzing. (Because he knows full well CIG are just gonna keep on doing the things he's correctly identified as problematic...)

Today I have put a nice message on this beautiful old transmission...

This is the first year since both ED and SC released where I can say there have been many many people saying they are returning to ED after playing SC. For years now it was "I was an ED player, but i switched to playing SC". This year its massively reversed.

That first sentence has been by and large just a convenient narrative, pushed by some interested parties, sadly. The fact of the matter is that the 2 communities overlap to a great extent (as a token example most of us in this thread have bought both games) and throughout the years we have also seen as many, if not more, SC players stating they had either started or gone back, to play Elite for one reason or another. Tons of examples and testimonies of that have been posted in this very thread.

As for the last sentence, given how SC is becoming more and more broken and monetization is becoming more and more abusive as time goes by, I can definitely see it.

Considering the genre, there shouldn't be an either/or at all. Both should be games we all enjoy.

But FD have been FD and CIG have been CIG, for over 10 years now. All we can do is observe the results.
