how are you calculating that?
In the spreadsheet there are 142 accounts with Million Mile High Club access, but I forgot high-referral accounts get MMHC access, as well as $10k+ backers.

As it happens, we've known since 2015 that 100+ backers have spent $10k+

This is more of a hunch, but I bet there are more than 142. There were at least 100+ like you said early on. You don't get auto access for spending more than 10k now, was a limited thing.

Yep, the "$10k+" access to MMHC only happened if one bought either the Wing Commander ($10k) or Completionist ($15k) packs, which were pulled from sale mid-2018

this is the most insulting thing someone has ever said to me since i've been on the internet.

implying that I would join the 890 Jump club? Over the line smokey! over the line!
:D
The 890 jump club is what's known as a target rich environment. Jorunn removed me from his contacts list after I attacked his bling barge with my Prospector. I managed to melt one of his friends with my mining lazor of doom as he was trying to evacuate from the hangar in a 325A :)

So, something that Gorf said on SA

at Chris claiming millions of backers two years ago. But the real shock, if this is accurate, is that they were at half a million paying customers in December 2016. (per Huffpost Quebec.)

So in 4 years of increasingly bigger revenues, they’ve only managed to add 220k paying customers? The first half of their life they hit half a million, second half 220k, but revenues exploded while customer growth was halved?

What am I missing here?

Not sure what he is missing if anything, but with a lot less backers per year increase yet funding keeps going up, it tells me people have more money than sense.

This game is not for you...

So I say to myself : “self“ enjoy it for what it is today if you can and forget what it might become tomorrow because tomorrow may never come and if it does that is a plus!

I think that if they can deliver, it will take a long long time , which makes Realize this game is really not for us but for new generations to come some of the real players are probably not even alive yet. People that play today will probably be burned out way before the game is at a “playable state Or with interesting game loops” ...it is only natural. A game of this magnitude presents many challenges , where figuring out how to overcome them will take many years of experimentation yet along implementing, that is why it is of extreme importance for CIG to keep the hype train going in order to constantly bring new backers to fund the game for years to come, many years to come otherwise I don‘t “personally“ think it’s got a chance.

depends, compared to somethings, buying SC space ships can be a reasonable purchase.

I wonder how many of those simply raise a Paypal dispute after donating. It's all too easy to make your favourite Twitch streamer jump around hillariously to your "anonymous" donation, then simply tell Paypal you dispute the transaction and they will always rule in favour of the "buyer".

It's hillariously easy to misuse as Paypal are too big to care about individuals and automate everything in favour of the "buyer". I once sold a computer on ebay (collection only), buyer pays with Paypal and says "I'm sending someone around, so put it in a box for me", the person he sends round is actually Parcel Force who trash the computer because it was supposed to be collection only, Ebay say its the buyers fault for organising their own courier so the buyer simply raises Paypal dispute who automatically take the money back from me immediatly and send the buyer a "packaging label", buyer sends back the parcel label with some smashed bits he photographs and harvests off any remaining working games from my item to sell in his own auction. When I recieve the label, Paypal give the buyer his cash back automatically and I'm left with a non sellable item that I had no part in breaking and most of it is now missing. Try phoning them but can't get through to a human, try online 'chat' support but can't get through to a human.

You can use Paypal to rent items on ebay if you like. Just raise a dispute when you are done, send the item back in any condition you like alternatively just send back an empty box with the packing label. You will get a 100% refund as the buyer.

What's better ebay won't allow the seller to leave you negative feedback anymore, hooray for scam friendly mega corporations.
