Insurance timers are causing some debate.
Serious question that maybe someone can help me understand the lunacy behind this. I find the answer that the devs need to test these things to be . We don't have quanta. We don't have server...

Some taking a lighthearted view of it
In a stunning move of psychological understanding of game play and players in Star Citizen. ............................................ CIG brought in 3.12 Claim timers!....

Some people really trying to spin it as positively as they can
Sounds strange and I was apprehensive to the idea of long claim timers with so much instability right now but yesterday was the most lively I've ever seen the waiting area's of the space station....

Someone looking to rustle some jimmies
I haven't played Elite Dangerous in years, mind you.. But that doesn't mean they didn't have good immersive game design in some area's. 1) Unique sounds for engines. Every ship has its own...

Ooooh, someone doing a LitteAnt, saying what happened in the past doesn't matter and CIG are free to change the product they promised to deliver. Someone quoted CIG's statement about private servers, moddable, etc and someone responded with this gem...
You have to take the most recent information.
Unfortunately the Kickstarter is way past over. The Wiki page has been updated more recently. Thus the Wiki page is more up to date, and legit.
So don't be surprised if suddenly at release CiG says "no private servers, and no solo play, it's only multiplayer". Not saying its going to happen, but. All of the most recently updated official pages says multiplayer/MMO style game. Nothing else.
Yup, there you have it. Its perfectly ok for CIG to change what they are delivering because what was promised a long time ago is no longer accurate. Its for people like this i'd love CIG to completely change what they are delivering to the point they get up in arms about it, and then people can quote their defenses of CIG's practices right back at them.
Isn't it amazing the number of streamers that are just accidentally being visited by Idrises? I'm sure its total coincidence and the devs are not just spawning Idrises near known streamers to get caught on camera...
I was shellshocked for at least half an hour after this Bigfoot encounter. Congrats to whoever stole this Idris just to troll on the server... or props to whichever dev gave me this super surreal...

And the streamers are absoloutely in cahoots with CIG on this, take a look at this one.
You can even see the Idris come on screen, and the streamer somehow fails to notice it, turns away, and then turns back and acts all surprised. Yeah, i'm not buying that. Bonus points for part of the Idris not rendering. Also how the ships are floating in that video really highlights how bad the flight model is. Its really like looking at a model in an asset viewer. No sense of weight or resistance.
And...
I know the title may sound provocative, but objectively, it shouldn't even be a question but a statement, here's why : The current state of the server is responsible for more than half of the...

I think the failure is yours trying to understand what SOCS was supposed to be. They repeated many times that SOCS wasn't the silver bullet some people was expecting. There's no Jesus patch that is going to improve everything all of a sudden.
Of course it wasn't meant to be a silver bullet. That's just why every time prior to OCS we were told once OCS arrives things will get much better. This was before iCache or Server Meshing were being discussed. Then CIG implemented CSOCS, and when people complaned they were told, ah, but its only CSOCS, wait for SSOCS, things will really get better then.
And now, people complain about SSOCS not being the silver bullet, and people are told to wait for iCache and Server Meshing.... and people wonder why we skeptics exist!
