I read a disturbing news bit the other day that the 33% of the budget in 2021 went towards marketing. With the state of the game being so 'alpha' why is so much effort going into saying 'playable...

Mike seems to be fixating on late-stage problems.
What a pity they didn't plan for PES from the start.
What a pity they didn't know that PES was needed for Server Meshing (because <madeupium>).
What a pity they didn't 'know' that Server Meshing was required for adding Pyro (because <YetMoreMadeupium>).
What a pity they didn't know that it's best to design and prototype a game before adding the fluff.
What a pity they seem to want to reinvent the wheel at every turn (pun intended).

Interesting anecdotal on their advertising push:
Being in the festival industry (with budgets bigger than CIG) I know a bit about remarketing and advertising. I will be in the same marketing pool for StarCitizen as I would be Jedi whatever it's called.
Are developers still programing with their point fingers or is it just the community managers left there?

Wow, the nerve. Suppose it could even be grounds for a misleading, or downright false, advertising claim.
Is that a whiff of desperation?
Recently acquired a PS5 in a horse trading exchange for a favour I was owed...but after installing it in the Mole Cave amongst the generally black PC bits, it really just looked like an out of place kitchen utensil.
