Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I thought that the jumpgate process involved a lot of steermanship and crew operating various consoles to make sure disaster didn't happen.

Hmm, are CIG dangling the exclusive F8C uber fighter for Citcon?

'Concierge mail from CIG confirms Anvil F8C gonna be flightready on the 10th of October'

Full email received with the stereogram:

Guess they need a few more $15k Praetorians ;)

This. I see people really getting excited, and my heart goes out to them, because I've seen this kind of thing before. I've felt this kind of thing before, and I just don't think it's actually coming any time soon.

We've all seen it time and again. They showed off the jump to Pyro at least twice, the first time i think in 2016.

IIRC, that was also the one where they tried to make it going through the wormhole would be a game of skill that required you to stay in the center of the tunnel, because if you touched the wall something bad would happen, and then the ship clipped through the wall and... nothing happened.

Pyro has been coming every year now for many years, so its no surprise we all are jaded about it actually coming.

And even if it does... whoopie fracking doo! One fairly small and minor system added after all these years, with 108 more still owed to backers, including the most complex systems, more complex than Stanton, and some requiring loads of new assets.

It's funny because so many people said that there was no exploration in Star Citizen, but now that jump points will be added more regularly, there are literally going to be people actually exploring the deep recesses of space to find them. It's one of the few times where the exploration is not only organic, but actually feels rewarding, even if only vicariously through someone else's post on Spectrum.

LOL, someone datamined the stuff and then people went to look.

They didn't have the Jump Point technology finished before this year, so how could it have been released in any year where the tech wasn't finalized and the replication layer wasn't done?

It's following basic logical progression. If X isn't done, we won't be getting Z. If X and Y are done, then we can get Z.

Before this year, X (Jump Point technology) and Y (a working replication layer) were not done, so we were never going to get Z (server meshing) any time before then.

Good question. Perhaps if CIG didn't keep telling people year after year Pyro was coming, it might even be a valid question.
