Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Got to show clear cultural identity to qualify for UK Video Games Tax Relief.
I wouldn't believe it. Then I got out at St Pancras station, filled with diesel fumes to gag over and there is was: the queue of people waiting in the diesel fumes to get out of the diesel fumes (and into taxi). I've always chastised myself for being German, complicated, bureaucratic - but that day I saw that sometimes people can have it even worse.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

No. It is review bombing when someone employs e.g. bot to leave a positive review tho. The bombing doesn't target the product - it targets the - how do we say - statistical integrity of the census.

That makes sense.

Most of the time, I hear the term “review bombing” in the context of “I’ve never played the game, but I don’t like %something that has nothing to do about the gameplay itself% so I want my legions of followers to negatively review the game!”

I think that is most often the intent. Discredit something. Drive home that it's a really crappy experience. There's so many bias at play. But in the end the botted review, or the meme army dissing a crappy release does not only hurt the product - it also hurts Steam review system as a trusted source for buyer feedback.
And then we're back at my favourite gripe:
Good or bad. Like or dislike. It's a question of quality - not quantity. The number of negative reviews isn't really what should form your opinion. It's what they complain about and whether you would also complain about such things.

Target is three minutes to make a jump. No loading screens, seamless :sneaky:

That’s why I generally look for Lets Players who have similar tastes to mine before deciding to buy. It’s no guarantee of a having a good experience myself, but I’ve generally gotten good results that way.

My takeaways were:
  • This was very funny...
There's been a lot of information shared over the years. A lot of it has changed as we've learned and had new ideas. So here's a primer on the first Jump Point we're building today, by some of the people that are currently building it. And what you see and here is super work in progress...
  • I'm really tempted to rework this list of 685 ISC devs, with all the devs who've left greyed out ;)

Evo trip report...

I love this guy 🤗

Server performance
US-010: worked fine; no server errors or 30K.
US-080: worked fine; no server errors or 30K.

Personal & Instanced Hangars
  • Trying to retrieve my Taurus in a medium hangar instantly teleported me to a docking pot (PT).
  • The elevator panels at NB all broke and I couldn't get out of the hangar other than to relog.

Freight Elevators
- Sometimes even when you store all the freight in the middle to the cargo grid it still shows as "cargo is blocking the elevator". You then move it a bit around and suddenly it works and sometimes it’s just broken and you have to abandon the mission.

Cargo Hauling Missions
  • There are no unverified hauling missions.
  • Because you can't adjust the SCU container size you may run into the issue that even though your ship has more than enough cargo capacity you still won't be able to haul everything in one go because the containers have the wrong size (I had a mission to deliver 108 SCU and decided to use my Freelancer MAX but because nearly all SCU were size 8 they didn't fit in the ship and I had to unload and get a different ship).
  • You will break the freight elevator if you return part of the cargo back at the pickup location because the SCU lottery provided you with SCU sizes that doesn't fit in your ship.
  • I was unable to abandon a hauling mission after I moved the cargo out and back into the freight elevator.
  • When transferring cargo in the warehouse the terminal screen isn't updated until you leave the screen.
  • You can only transfer the same size SCU at a time using the freight elevator. Try a 4 SCU and a 8 SCU? Elevator will not work. 4 SCU and 8 SCU separate? It works as intended. And sometimes even then the freight elevator doesn't work: one 8 SCU container blocked the elevator even when it was all by itself? I even tried a different elevator but nothing worked so I had to abandon the mission.
  • For cargo trading the elevator at SMO18 nearly broke because I mixed two different size SCU. It's best to move one size SCU at a time to prevent issues.
* It would be good if the mission description also includes the total amount of cargo that needs to be collected from one location in case there are multidrop. "Please collect 228 SCU of Waste from PT and deliver 80 SCU to NB, 100 SCU to Covalex DC etc).

Taurus
- My Taurus was delivered to a medium hangar at PT. When I entered the elevator, I was teleported 120KM away from the station. The Taurus should get a large hangar assigned.
* Together with the Nomad it's my favourite physical cargo ship. The TB turret makes life so easy  .

Freight Elevators seem to be less robust than some other evos would have it...
