Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

  • A ||Regeneration|| Crisis has started, causing ||multiple regeneration failures across the UEE||. This has prompted highly unregulated research to start through the ||Second Life Initiative - a UEE sponsored program to incentivize quick solutions to the Regeneration Crisis through deregulation and additional UEE compensation.||
  • The player is tasked with breaking into a set of "Associated Science and Development" (ASD) research facilities in Pyro, which are researching a combination of ||Vanduul specimens as well as various Valakkar.|| Players will break in and nab irradiated Valakkar eggs.
  • This "raid" will include a variety of environmental puzzles, including keycard searching and radiation avoidance through various radiation suits.
  • The event concludes with the ||facilities under investigation by the UEE, the head scientist behind them fired, and the Second Life Initiative ended.||

It begins. And of course, you'll need a mining mech to compete.

Internet sez...

I work next door. No one has been there all month.

Also what's all this about a bonus jpg to distract the Concierge?

First Concierge perk in 3 years, 5 months and 21 days if you don't count losing PTU wave 1 access

"Concierge received an email today that CIG is going to close the studio in LA. Not much else was said, except that Concierge get an ingame replica of a picture that hangs in Chris' office in that studio for remembrance."
An in-game hangar decoration so that concierges can feel like they sit in Chris' vacant office chair in LA?

"Probably cause they fixed whatever needed to be fixed and now they're watching the servers for new bug that may or may not only pop up after a certain limit was reached "
They're giving CIG a lot of credit as if CIG actually plan these things. I know for a fact CIG isn't following traditional game development practice so I doubt they're watching servers for bugs.

I didn't even bother reading the news all I noticed was how the screen was bolted to the bulkhead. It's octagonal screws man, never been done before. The weirdest thing is, it looks like the bottom one is a nut so the screw is coming through from the other side. They could have looked at how wall mounted screens are put up at the studio.
Chris Roberts loosing his last sliver of connection to Hollywood? Since they spend 2 years building the company, does moving and closing studios adds 2 more years to the perpetual development as well?

Love how many fans are just coping with the usual "we knew all along this was going to happen", or similar.

Just a little over a year ago:
Los Angeles, while shrinking, will still be an important office for the company, but one focusing on a business support role with Marketing, Finance, Legal and HR.

Yesterday:
That also means we’re saying a bittersweet goodbye to our Los Angeles studio.

Now, the full shut down of an office with a couple hundreds employees is not done overnight, and requires quite a lot of planning and preparation, contract closing and layoff or transfer processing, plus arranging new hires in other locations. It usually takes many months if not years. Which suggests that Chris Roberts was highly misrepresenting things at best, and probably lying at worst, in that letter from the chairman.
