He's right you know. I did that one back in...thread 5? or 6? When SQ42 was just about to be released the first time or something.
Feel free to archer this one in the best tradition of Chris Roberts - I think I also did that one at the same time but you can say it's never been done before...so I hear.

Don't get me wrong, there are good bits and sometimes, the forever subjective 'fun' to be had. I had some newbies in tow tonight showing them how to mine with a ROC...advised them to just buy it in game rather than splurge the cash in the store. I reminded them they can support the project just as well by playing with nothing more than a starter package...leave the buying of ships to when Ci¬G prove they can actually get closer to releasing a game.

Sound advice. But with one small problem. If people stop buying ships, CIG go under.
I think he's referring to how some people will only report on the good or the bad, depending on their liking for the game.

Hmm at around 42:00 hey says all the other Communitys like DCS jumping on SC. The last thing I heard was that the DCS community is more excited on SW squadrons.
But in the end the are making and seeking excuses to keep their dreams up.

Here's my honest review. Unplayable. FPS : min 8; max 21; avg 17. This as on low graphics quality. Although my PC isn't state of the art, it is better than the recommended settings as published in the faq. I've got a slightly better graphics card arriving on Wednesday. If I've got time I'll give it another shot. I do want to like this game. I would have thought that the the intention of the free fly was to get more pledges but given its current state I'm not impressed. Perhaps they need to amend their recommended settings.
FPS are pretty bad, alpha is not optimised atm. You gain a lot of FPS once out of the starting city. On my old computer, I have 20 FPS average in cities, 40 FPS out of cities.
The main advices :
- SSD is mandatory.
- Don't put graphics on low, it give less FPS than high atm.
- Turn vsync off.
- Set priority to "High" to StarCitizen.exe (task manager - details tab).

Problem is, it should be part of the minimum recommended specs, and it isn't.
I see they have changed minimum specs to require 16Gb. Launcher still warns saying its 8Gb though.
Minimum 16Gb though,.... lol. Can't wait to see the system requirements after another 5 years of alpha.
Also, they are very unspecific with their processor requirements, just saying 4 cores. 4 core processors have existed for well over a decade, but i wouldn't recommend trying to run SC on some of them.
