Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Kids doing YouTube stuff, and the acting is not to shabby for amateurs, why not, let them have fun, my daughter does it too (under supervision of course). There you go, my view, and the game is presumably NMS.
You missed off the winking emoji at the end of your post. Unless you were being serious, then...
🤣🤣🤣

For me, I prefer specialized ships to multi-usage ones.
Grinding is part of all MMO. Grinding for ships in SC or grinding for engineering in ED, it's not easy to avoid it in long term games.

Well, that's the main difference in terms of ships between SC and ED. In ED, you can make any ship do anything, although some ships are more suited to certain tasks than others. SC goes the route of ship specialization.

Now, i'm not going to claim one route is better than the other. Both are valid game designs. But, when you sell ships for hundreds or thousands of dollars, and are locked out of certain activities unless you have the right ship... well, it kind of says something.

But yeah, blah blah, its alpha, blah blah supporting the game, blah blah, all ships are/will be earnable in game, especially when released.

But its clear the design encourages people to spend more that they perhaps would otherwise... intentional or not.

The backers must be splurging!

Arrr! Thar they blows!

It could just as easily be Star Citizen, that's why.
A nearly infinite universe with procedurally generated planets you can land on and manipulate, and another players can see those changes, plus if you watched the whole video, the other games called out, it’s right in the NMS release timeframe. Damn man, you need to get rid of the hate.

Been meaning to ask this coz on every one of your vids I seen the target seems to be incapable of getting away or even out of target sights most of the time? Are they just not very experienced yet or is the balance wrong?

If I am attacking a cargo ship (freelancer, cutlass), they almost always could get away if they acted quickly and appropriately. The time to kill is pretty long.

Prospectors (the small mining ship) are pretty weak. So they are likely to die, even if they try and get away.

Well specialised vs multiuse. In ED you can customise your ships heavily, of course some ships are way better for some activities than other, nearly regardless of what you bolt on them. Say Krait Phantom would be better explorer than Fer de Lance, at least with very little customisation vs very heavy customisation. On other hand in combat FdL is quite capable compared to say T7....

And then there are things like my monster Cutter, can trade, can explore, can fight. Not best for any of these tasks, what it is spesialised is in shield tanking, having also pretty tanky hull.

Wow - just watched Jake somebody introduce the arrival of the ED Asp into the SC world as the Nomad. Thought for a moment I was watching Top gear with an astonishingly wooden version of Jeremy Clarkson with a voice and humour that was clearly based on the Fab 3 from the original Top Gear. Then suddenly The Stig appeared in a space suit.

Clarkson, Hammond and May would have all been unable to resist pointing out the origins of the design!

When I first watched the KS I thought SC were leading the PC space race, now it seems they are firmly followers. They say plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery.
