At 04:09 on 4th August 3302, CMDR Cral Travis of the Terran Federation became the first human being to ever reach the closest point in the Galaxy to the huge Andromeda Spiral, our nearest galactic neighbour apart from
satellites like the Magellanic Clouds.
BYAA THOI GC-D D12-0, known in some old Earth legends as Star One, the first and last star beyond which there are no other stars for over 2 million light years. It lies 41,753.2 light years from Sagittarius A*, as remote again from the Formidine Rift as that is from the Galactic Hub, and thus Travis may be the Commander who has existed further from galactic centre than any other human being.
Travis gazed into the void with his one good eye, and found it pleasing. No human being had ever set foot in the remote reaches of the Rim, here. He decided to survey the heck out of every part of every system on the way
home. Unless the Andromedans got in contact first.
(Accessible only by nearly thirty 100-light year jumps beyond the galaxy rim, this was the hardest thing I've ever done in a game. Log events and pics to follow. I took a short movie of my arrival in this most remote spot.)

That is Sand, one of my favourites. Tanith Lee did a great job there. For a bonus point, name the episode of Blake's 7 that the poem in my signature is from![]()
She's named Felicity's Fancy, after Felicity Farseer who did all the work on it (level 5 FSD upgrade and a power plant output improvement). I do think she deserves a new paintjob for this achievement (my ship, not Felicity Farseer). Anyone got a suggestion? You did this in an AspX??! I am impressed!
It's an easy job but someone has got to do itHave some rep, just for being a Blakes 7 fan.
I've been bookmarking like crazy so I can keep the route. Will be back for more scans!amazing. looking forward to your pics, route ... and return!
Watch out for the incoming invasion fleet.
And careful not to fall into any dangerous looking openings in bases there, Travis.
Good job Cmdr

I have added a few more, including my one and only landing (with no shields installed, even the gentlest touchdown can result in hull damage). It was on the planet in the adjacent system, nearest to the Andromeda Spiral - the last planet in the galaxy that way out. Took photos in two directions. On one side, several warm suns. On the other, utter nothingness.I'll follow the album as you fill it. I just want to see...the voidIt just happens that every time I leave a bubble I move towards higher star density regions or nebulae, so I can't appreciate infinite darkness of the universe in all it's glory.
I couldn't figure out how to input data, but the coordinates I have are -35,414 : -15 : 3,821 assuming I'm taking the correct corner of the grid squares by the digits. It's checkable on the Galaxy Map:Its awaiting triateration, so once enough distances for it have been entered into the EDSM database it'll appear on the map.
Point your long range scanners towards Andromeda. Just. In. Case.
Factoid - Terry Nation originally intended the invaders from Andromeda to be... Daleks, providing a cross-over between B7 and DW.
