General / Off-Topic Star Trek done, what next?

Yep, Lexx is definitely different. ;)

The initial 4 films they did were utterly brilliant. Defo worth a watch, really out there, it's unlikely you've seen anything close. The following 4 series, well not so much....

Another + for Space: Above and Beyond, I think it heavily influenced the awesome Battlestar Galactica from a few years back, so if you enjoyed that....

While we're on the topic, is there any decent sci-fi out there at the moment?

It all seems to be superheroes and Twilight style emotional drama about good-looking young people.

Copy that, Monarch:)

hehe, good point bitstorm. First thing that ccomes to mind is Fringe. But many may have eluded me. And I like space themes better, I must say.

Alex989, yeah, I saw farscape with my wife actually. She never liked such TV shows. But many years ago, must be 10 or so, we enjoyed that show very much. Today tho we might have "higher standards" ;)

B5 and space&beyond sounds very interesting. Watching season 7 of ST Voyager now, so I might jump over to the next gen star trek stuff people have been mentioning first. I agree it is a bit unrealistic at times, but it's so funny acting and all that...But yeah, I def. hear what you say about Babylon5, bullit.

Decent is subjective, but:
.
12 Monkeys - starts this week
Ascension - mini series, OK
Continuum - last season, hovers between brilliant and overwrought
Defiance - from the guy that made Farscape
Dominium - series of the movie Legion, has post apocalyptic elements
Extant - Halle Berry does Scifi with Steven Spielberg
Falling Skies - see the doctor from ER fight aliens (writing on this is terrible though)
Helix - weird, in a good way
Orphan Black - genius, <3 Tatiana Maslany and you will too
The Strain - vampire parasites in New York
.
Revolution - cancelled, post apocalyptic
Almost Human - cancelled, see Judge Dredd 3D or the new McCoy play detective with an Android
Minority Report - coming soon, basically the same as Almost Human from the same channel that cancelled Almost Human, so I wonder why they're bothering.
.
Since you mentioned Twilight
Penny Dreadful - Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Josh Hartnett, gothic horror done right
Constantine - series of the comic, enjoyable though likely to be cancelled
