General / Off-Topic Star Trek Picard.

I am watching this now.... Episode 5 I think.

There is a large.part of the episode centred around the bridge of the ship and it is quite amazing how much like elite it looks imo.

No real reason for my post but.... Even the HUD/market board was in elite orange.
I thought that when I saw it as well. And yeah, Bigmaec's right. Wait until you get a load of what else they...um...borrowed!

Yup, as mentioned above the ...
killer flowers
even more so.

It wasn't a great series, but the last 10 mins of the last episode make it worth sitting through the overwhelming dull non-Trekness up to that point.

I didn't get past Episode 5. The series was, to me, a complete train wreck. One of the worst aspects of it all was that there was entirely WAY too much killing for the sake of killing. I have ZERO respect for Kurtzman. His talent could be inserted in its entirety into a little thimble with room enough to add a good sized cockroach (and the roach probably has more talent).

I was just discussing Picard with a mate before I saw this thread and althought I didn't think it was universally terrible, it could certainly have been better without Kurtzman's involvement. Thankfully (or not I suppose) I'd already watched Disco so my expectations were kept low.

I think the best thing that could happen to sci-fi at the moment would be someone tying Kurtzman and Kathleen Kennedy together and throwing them into a lake.

Sorry, but I’ve already requested that Kennedy be blown out of an airlock.
Kurtzman you can have👍🏻

What and have her discover her latent jedi powers like Leia. Plot armour is one thing but that entire scene was just fracking stupid.

If Kennedy did it, I'd suggest:

'Wait, she's coming back!'

Even if you hate the show, you have to admit, Captain Rios deserves his own Starfleet command. He's the Picard version of Discovery's Pike. I'd like to point out though, I want to use the other short hand for Discovery, but I doubt the forums would let me.

Rios was a good character. I also liked Narek as a character (excellent performance from Harry Treadway) and felt he could be developed with some depth. So of course, he's not in Season 2...

The best character in Disco, hands down, is Reno. She needs her own series.

I liked all the cast of the show but by the end of the series I was just done with it.

Yeah the cast in general was good for Picard, shame they didn't have more to work with but it's definitely fair to say they did their best with what they had.

I will say though that Brent Spiner was underutilised and shoe horning in a never mentioned before relative of Dr Soong in order to keep Spiner around for future seasons is peak Hackzman.

True on both counts. The Soongs must have a family tree like the House of Hapsburg.

Lol well I am gonna buck the trend. I think Picard is "ok" I thought season 2 of Disco was "ok" and i really enjoyed season 1 (oh and I loved enterprise and thought it should never have been canned)

So feel free to put me in the stocks and throw eggs at me ;)

Really enjoying the expanse btw am half way through season 3 at moment
