Starfield Xbox Controller

So I got the new Starfield themed Xbox controller, and it works fine with other games, but for some reason Elite doesn’t see it. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Are you playing ED through Steam or FD or Epic?
How are you conencting the controller? Bluetooth, XBox dongle, USB cable?

Steam at least reputedly has some "special" way of connecting controllers to games (wouldn't know about this, since I don't play ED on steam).
Connecting an XBox controller to ED on a PC via Bluetooth might work - but in most cases, it will not, or at least not reliably. The price we pay for the near infinite variability of setting up ED's controls. It will (usually) work through the original Microsoft XBox controller dongle or via cable.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the controller. I occasionally get something similar with it not seeing Xbox controllers.

I go through FD. I am connected through Bluetooth, and the controller works great with Star Citizen, but Elite doesn't see it and defaults to Keyboard. I have other Xbox Bluetooth controllers that are older that wok flawlessly with ED. Is therer something different about the newer controllers?

The controller support is really good, everything is remappable but you need to switch the settings to controller in the options->controls menu as it wont auto select. Theres a few modes, K&M, Controller or Controller+K&M. You set it for each vehicle type. I use "Controller" setting and find the mouse and keyboard still work if i want to use them (for easier selecting on the galaxy map for eg) so i would recommend that one

I’ve got the SF controller and Bluetooth just wouldn’t play nicely with it - intermittent dropouts and spurious inputs, only some buttons working, etc.

I ended up buying a wireless adapter dongle and now it works flawlessly
