Starting over with 2nd account

I aspire to be a mirror of your Cmdr. Rep for never firing a shot, not sure i can go that far, but i did run from a Pirate Hauler, but i did deploy my 2 peashooters ;)

"Remove weapons" is step number one on outfitting a new ship - for the jump range and power draw, you understand.... :D

Your very first "seed" credits to get the ball rolling, was that data missions?

Yup. Nothing to lose - literally, as rebuy was 0 Cr.

For some alt-CMDRs I have bought and outfitted a Hauler as soon as I could reasonably do so - with an ADS as soon as I could afford it - with all purchases sourced from LYR docks for the 15% discount. I did the Palin unlock in a Hauler, once - prefer the DBX though.

Yes going to get a second account also. Exploration account, although really do not want to unlock the Guardians or Engineers a second time.

Got my second account a couple of days ago. CMDR Moorcock is (after roughly 5hrs) still in a Sidey, albeit a slightly upgraded one. He's got slightly north of 2M Cr, mostly from RES hunting.

As Krash says though, it's kind of exhilarating to be this feeble. I can't remember the last time I had to plot the route to a destination before I accepted a delivery mission, just to be sure I could actually make it!

I'm not entirely sure how I want to play in this account though. I like the idea of Iron Man, but I don't think I could stick to it. I'm tempted to go full-on 'Class of 84' and do everything in a Cobra III.

We'll see.

I gave my last two new CMDRs a jumpstart by transferring a tad over 1 mil cr of commodities. That got them enough to do the R2R quickly and then get into an Asp Explorer. From there, I made it a goal to have a Python and 200 mil cr for each.

An upgraded sidewinder can do the R2R surprisingly well.

...

I want this cmdr to have the lowest Combat rank i can keep him at, so am avoiding the easy res site sniping.

...

+1. My newest CMDR has zero kills and it's my intention to keep him that way. It blocks some of the engineers, but his RP is pacifist.

1. Load both accounts
2. Head primary CMDR to HazRez, newbie in MultiCrew, doing nothing
3. Make 5m or so (about 30-40 mins)
4. Newbie leaves MC and buys a hauler and pax cabins
5. Newbie heads to robigo
6. Newbie does pax runs and upgrades as they go to whatever they want.

That is by far the quickest non-exploitive method to having Cutter Credits + Elite Explorer + G5 Materials + Empire Rank
The goal would be to get to level anaconda + cabins, then continue the pax missions all the way to 2b or so to buy the Cutter.

At this moment, I think I'll unlock the G5 FSD for extended distance. I can't think of anything else an explorer will need from the engineers.

I might go with the DBX. I already did long range exploration in the AspX and conda.

...light weight mods are usefull aswell (especially Scanner, Hull...), but not that important like the FSD

Forget R2R. It's too slow. If your primary account is allied with major and minor faction's, gold/silver/beryllium wing missions are so profitable that I can use a 728T Cutter to earn at least 100M per hour for both accounts at the same time. And the secondary account doesn't have to do anything but sit in the station. Also, the secondary account doesn't need anything but a Sidewinder.

For pure credits, this is true. One of my main goals for R2R is to gain rank in Explorer. I'm making good progress: I've engineered G5 FSD, purchased a Krait and DBX; and on my way to the guardian ruins to work the puzzle and get the FSD booster. I'm on track to be well into the void by the time v3.3 drops with a 52ly MK2 or even better Phantom. I haven't decided yet if the SLF is a deal breaker or not for long term exploration.

I did about 30 mins on the R2R and then tried something different after 3.3 with the new mapping tools:

1. On the edge of the bubble (find staging system with station services), right where the system names start to become generic and long alphabet soup.
2. Using Krait Mk2 (52ly jump range), pick a system about 500ly away from the bubble (12-13 jumps) filter on A,F,G systems
3. FSS each system along the way and only map high metal content, WW, AW or ELW that have not been mapped yet.
4. Do the same on return trip to station, 12 different systems.

Not even found any new discoveries, just new mappings, my exploration data value ranges from 9 to 12mil per trip.
