State of the Game

You're right - let's talk about the period from 1933 - 1945 instead.

But seriously, though, let's not. I mean... almost 80 years ago. Still find that episode hilarious, because it makes fun of everybody's obsession with it. That's how real humor works. :)

The sort of thing that makes me feel a WHOLE lot less annoyed about my piffling problems.

Sorry about the mess you're having to deal with, my German friends!
I'm more concerned about the incoming aftermath then the flood itself.

It will give "The Green Party" a boost in popularity, and with all due respect to the problems with climate change,
THEIR proposed solutions to most of issues in this area are very often detached from reality, ideologically fueled, genuine madness.

NPC that I KNOW that I can't lose to no matter what I do for 10 minutes is NOT 10 times as challenging as fighting one for 1 minute that I know can mess up my day seriously
I agree here, I would much prefer quicker, higher risk combat to what we have now. The issue with that balance is insta-ganking if you don't have perfect engineering. Not sure of the solution.
due to a bunch of n00bz crying about how NPCs could kill them, but I could very well be wrong
I understand it was g5 engineered stupid AI, not better AI, that was giving people trouble, but I could definitely get behind higher difficulty even that way if it didn't make the fights so interminably long.

Not particular to that party. It's very, very common throughout human history with maniacally focused ideologies: Find something to blame, then blame it for everything bad that happens, no matter what. Human nature. Pick an enemy, blame it for everything you don't like, throw logic and reason out the window.

I do remember hearing about AI that had weapons made of unobtainium with unlimited ammo and clearly, that's as dumb as just giving them 10 times the hit points. If that was the case, then I'd have been complaining too.

But it aren't the Germans to blame for this grim times.
It was some Nazi folk.
Probably invaders from Mars.
At any rate, the way I see it, the ones to blame for it are all dead now. And good riddance. I just wish, and I'm sure that 99.99999999999% of Germans feel the same way, that they'd died a whole lot sooner.

It is what it is. Can't change the past, but we can use our knowledge of it to shape a better future.

Edit: The ones dwelling on the past are just as stupid as the ones trying to forget it.

Now there's a can of worms you might not want to open. ;) I'm pretty sure they weren't just referring to good old fashion Gutenberg style printing presses when they mentioned "freedom of the press" either, or the Internet would be in a heap of trouble :)

A good argument can be made that they didn't mean howitzers, however, considering that they're incredibly hard to "bear", no matter what Hollywood movies might suggest :)
Try mortars...

Don't forget endless chaffs, endless heatsinks etc.
I don't know if this was true in the early days of horizons, but the chaff/hs limit was pretty well abided by by NPCs just before EDO dropped. If I was fighting a krait/python in my DBS it would go on long enough for them to run out!

My comment wasn't to be taken too serious.
Actually my folk is still being salty and oversensitive over this (imagined) narration
but episodes like Merkel telling about European countries being freed from Nazi occupation, then mentioning their names, GERMANY included is not helping fixing this obsession.

But this is a toxic lunacy, nothing for me to feel in.

So true. But I'm almost certain that something similar will happen again. Not necessarily in Germany and certainly not under the same label. In principle, it can happen anywhere where people seriously believe that national egoism is the medicine that cures everything. Unfortunately, I can immediately think of a few candidates (and don't necessarily want to exclude Germany either).
Nah, it won't happen.
There will be always some fans of this ideology, but the "glass ceiling" is holding it low enough.
Luckily
