State of the Game

EDIT: Oh, and weirdly at the minute, I'm playing it more than ever, and thoroughly enjoying it - except for the crashing in the damn system map.

Weirdly I'm the same. I think I had about 620 hours in the game from launch in 2014 until this summer, and I'm almost at 1,000 now. And that's from someone who HAAAATES FPS games like the Battlefield/Call of Doody thingies.

But by DeVito's dome did update 7 make the game a lot more... demanding of my patience, shall we say. Nothing like plopping thousands on a computer that was only built earlier this year from top of the line bits, only seeing it reduced to a stuttering mess by.... Elite?!?!?

they're really digging in on the whole keeping foot gameplay independent of ship gameplay ....instead of adding ways to entwine them into a single experience.

I'm not sure. Both films take liberties with the story but cover roughly the same events- for example:

Lynch totally changes the ending of his Dune, but Denis changes Kynes to a woman and how she dies. Kynes dies in Lynches version much more closely to the book (although in an outtake) than Denis version does.

Its like I said, Denis has the 'vision' but Lynch has the 'heart'. Both are fantastic films but neither are really 'the one'.

Can I say, from a person that watched the film well over two decades ago, and have never read the books, your description of events stir up memories that I never knew I had... I still feel like I'll be paying to go and see this... "Clickie" at the Odium, instead of waiting for it to be available to watch at home while eating my own "Banged Grains"...

I've never seen the original film (the books are lined up next for the kindle) however dune to me will always be the fantastic game (duneII) - a precursor to the amazing C&C.
Years ago we used to chant "har-vest, har-vest" at the harvesters while they did their business whilst being chased by the worms.

And this... SO MUCH THIS!

I played Dune II, Battle for Arakis on the Amiga long before ever watching the film...

Ohh that’s a tricky one, I liked Europe’s “the final countdown” but Asia’s “Heat of the moment" was also pretty good. Think I’d have to go with Eurasia though so many catchy hits….

No mention of shop available interiors to customize your carrier. That's hopefully just because carriers wont be getting interiors at update 8 launch, but in some post-update 8 update.

I apologise for my absence for the last few weeks, our company has recently changed its security solution from Sophos to Defender, and this change has now blocked this forum as NSFW viewing! (disgraceful in my book!).

Anyway, the resulting barrage of random, hold-on-we-had-this-discussion-weeks-ago? Responses from me is because I have a day off, and am sitting in a pub, enjoying a pint, and catching up on this thread on my phone... Good grief I need a long run up!

Either way, I'm going to be a bit absent until we (hopefully) move house in the next week or so, where I'll have room to have my own personal laptop next to me, trained on this thread again!
