500MB/sec -> 2+GB/sec wasn't being sarcastic. You most certainly will notice a huge difference in anything that is IO bound. read or write.
Especially if there is a cat implicated as well.

I concur...as have anecdotal evidence. Mid year I swapped out a standard SSD for an NVMe. This was the drive used to store the ED game files. Huge difference in loading times before and after. And I didn't even buy a fast NVMe, just run of the mill.
EDIT: also, doing a game file check on EDO (50 GB) via the launcher is about 10 times faster than it was on the SSD.

It is pretty much what you describe, a moving '70's sci-fi book cover' with a flight model... (cough)... a sort of flight model... (splutter)... well... it has space ships.
I like it for what it is, but it's surely not like the other space games with their fidels. I've not played the last update, which is also true of ED. No conclusions to be drawn. They've both been out for a while now.
