State of the Game

Build a bridge and get over it. The core VR gameplay is still there all that changed is that you can't walk around on foot in VR.
so long as some of the players complaining are getting their way, i dont think that VR bridge can be built.

and those asking for Engineers to be removed ;)

yea...my plans on removing engineers is more complete fantasy than any serious suggestion even as far as suggestions are anything but complete fantasy. Fdev relies on engineers to hook players into playing beyond the standard burn-out phase of acquiring ships and waiting for the narrative to move along. Without their engineer mechanic doing what it does, they'd be stuck having to create real content continually or revive previous more expensive and involved yet less effective things like powerplay.

A not insignificant number of vr players purchased their vr setup primarily for elite dangerous. That aint cheap. Having elite add content where vr appears to be dropped is definitely liable to make people upset. justifiably or not.

Their impotent rage joins that of the offline single player mode players, powerplay players, and the open-only people.
I bought my vr kit just for elite.
It's a fantastic experience, and even in OD it is, even more so with the new planet tech etc. The lack of proper on foot is disappointing, but not the end of the world.

I understand why they've done what they have. Plus I now enjoy lots of other games in vr which I wouldn't have, if it hadn't have been for ED

Edit: anyway Neil young on telly now, so all is good

They're not the first company to make tedious busy work in lieu of content.

Ubisoft has been doing it for years.

I take it we're still waiting for Fdev to turn on the space crabs ...since i'm not seeing tons of threads talking about killing bugs and a bunch of starship trooper memes being posted.

Wonder what they're waiting for. It's not like consoles are getting odyssey anytime soon (ever) and space crabs are too valuable to just sit unused now that we know they exist.
