I didn't feel like writing an open letter like the cool kids are doing, I just made a small write-up on games launched broken mirroring it through Odyssey.
Bugs, bugs and more bugs. The troubling trend of publishing unfinished games

That is Both Good and Perplexing...
OK - WARNING! OFF TOPIC DISCUSSION AHEAD!!!

Good in that this BullShoot from needs to be called out for exactly what it is, which you have done ....

Perplexing in that you didn't get a refund at some stage of the Alpha Test!
You can't complain AFTER launch if you knew full well what a Dogs Dinner EDO was before it launched... Even if you were not 100% sure (any sceptic would roll their eyes! )
You didn't need to buy it before the plethora of post-release reviews confirmed every bodies worse fears! As you pointed out in your article...
So why did you buy Odyssey?
To torture yourself?
To show your loyalty to ?
To dispose of £40 you didn't want?
To be an unpaid Alpha Tester for and PAY for the privilege?
To ensure that this behaviour perpetuates in the gaming industry?
and here is the
GOTCHA you have CONDONED their behaviour by buying their LEMON!
Everybody who has purchased EDO and is playing EDO is also CONDONING this behaviour. Simply VOTE WITH YOU FEET if you want this kind of thing to stop! Writing articles about it does Jack Shoot!
I will not purchase EDO until it meets a couple of basic points:
- Is a viable product that only has minor bugs or where there are game breaking bugs, these are in unique and exceptional circumstances.
- The game matches the stated Developers intentions of said Released game [Full / Alpha / Early Release etc].
- The expected mechanics are properly implemented and playable by the vast majority (if not all) of players.
- The game is of reasonable value (not overpriced).
- The game offers me sufficient content to be worth the price of the game.
EDO fails all 5 of these tests for me!
You don't really get to write articles
after the event unless you are a games reviewer for a magazine etc...
